Hey guys, hope everyone is well and healthy considering the current pandemic or whatever.
Anyways, I'm a rookie here, looking for a little guidance buying my first Ferrari F12...
I have my eyes on a dark blue one being sold down in Texas for $180,000 with 14,000 miles on it.

The dealer told me they just did a 20,000 clutch job on it (is that normal)?
Trying to figure out if this one is a good deal, or is it just optioned very low, or high miles which make it one of the best prices out there?

Here is a link to the car... Would love to know what you guys think about it?

If there is a more appropriate place to discuss a car like this, my apologies.

Will - Check out this one which has less miles but seems in better shape. Unfortunately the dealer I bought my Ferrari F8 doesn’t have an F12 right now or I would hook you up, but Continental does:

Good luck in your search. This is my second Ferrari and I absolutely love them.

Welcome aboard. You might want to check the VIN with your local dealer to see what terms they can offer on an extended warranty. Cars older than ten years, I wouldn't care as much which seller had the car. But something to consider on 2013.

They're pretty robust. There's a local one with over 84k miles that a casino owner had. He traded up to an 812.

I don't think a clutch is classified as a service part on an F12, I think it's the like the 458 so it's meant to last for the lifetime of the gearbox. Can someone chime in to confirm if my statement above is correct or not?

Why on Earth would a 2014 F12 need a clutch? Never heard of it. DCT transmissions are controlled electronically. Something is going on here. Step up and get one that is a jewel. Condition before price on an exotic.

Big fan of your YouTube channel! I’m guessing Mike from AutoVlog probably has you craving for an F12.

As others have mentioned, the clutch replacement seems odd since these cars usually do not require a replacement for the lifetime of the car. The mileage is definitely not too bad and these cars are very durable (mine has 28k!). The price is great, but it’s definitely not the optimal spec in my opinion.

Personally, I would recommend that you look for one with the carbon fiber driver zone, carbon fiber dashboard inserts and passenger display (kind of gimmicky, but it’s fun for passengers to have something to view). Also, the carbon fiber race seats look great and provide some extra head room.

Make sure to check with the seller if the car has signs of corrosion around the rear vents or if they have already been repaired in the past.

    Good luck in your search!

Wow... I am always humbled when people tell me they like my YouTube channel. So thank you and it means alot to me!
As I am a fan of all types of cars, I have forum accounts on just about all of the forums for the cars I have owned (Audi Forums, Hellcat, Lambo, etc) and on some forums, anyone who makes youtube videos is hated with vigor haha, so your comment means a lot to me really.

Also, yes your comment has me thinking about the big picture. I actually love the spec (exterior and interior colors, and wheels) and if that is what keeps the price down, I am totally fine with that, assuming that after 24 to 36 months there will be another person like me out there looking for a minimal spec, BUT I do want to be able to sell it one day for minimal depreciation, and maybe being able to get something with a warranty would be ideal.

Yes, I like Mike's F12 as well, his interior really sold me. It's fantastic!

For your first Ferrari I would try to get one from a dealer that has a CPO warranty. Give you piece of mind for 2 years for most of the gremlins to work themselves out.

Definitely agree with this, buy from the dealer, they tend to not be that much more expensive it just takes a little longer to find one

Many ways to buy. I bought my F12 from a non Ferrari dealer in Dallas that you would know. Big mistake. Pictures of the car and accessories were from prior sale. All were missing on arrival. That’s another story.

The F12 is an amazing value and there is a tremendous selection out there. Your local dealer probably has a Rolodex of current inventory and people looking to sell. So you would have your choice of well maintained and not abused cars.

Miles don’t matter per se. These cars are fairly reliable. There can be issues- paint bubbling on rear mesh comes to mind as the major one.

I suspect the price delta between a current garage car and an auction car or multi car dealer is small as there are motivated sellers out there.

Other place to look is here ! Put a wanted to buy listing in the individuals section or contact one of the brokers if desired here. Search for F12 in commercial. There are deals when one cuts out the middle person. I am amazed of what’s out there and the price point. Just when you think it cannot get any better, it does.

Good luck. Pictures or it didn’t happen. You will love this car. I feel like the luckiest b@st@rd whenever it fires up.

    Drive it well
