Is this in fact #6045 as the video title claims?

Years ago I was away at college and I had some fun at the school library.

I found old English car magazines from the late 1960's and looked in the back at the classifieds.

A 250LM was listed for sale in or around - 7,500 Sterling.

I was involved in the sale of 6105 to the consignor. He achieved a quite nice ROI that evening.

I was also involved in transacting "one" of the 6045 cars back in 2001. (i.e. not the one with the original 6045 engine)

I am assuming this is 6045, as the video says.

    We know.
Respectfully, you've said this again and again.

    This is a race car.
    Race cars have numbers.
You like them the way they left the factory before the first customer (or SF) used them.
    Fair enough.

But the truth of the car, the essence of it, is that it was born to race.
So then you keep the last number it raced with on it.
Or if you restore it, often the choice is made to restore it to its 'point in time' specification and livery/number of a given race. And so that's the number it then wears.

You simply cannot separate the two.
There are a few purpose built Ferrari race cars with no competition history (or no 'in period') history.
For those few, it's 'correct' that they don't carry numbers.
But for the rest of them- if you leave the numbers off, you might as well leave all the paint off.
    They go together.

    Cheers.

So there are a couple posts in here that talk about multiple 6048's.

Can someone walk through which ones claim to be 6048 and which ones have the original parts.

My guess this is the original 6048 chassis, but the original 6048 engine is in a different car?

    You mean 6045.
06048 would be a RHD 246 Dino GT.

    Questions from the photos:

    1. Shouldn't it have the quilted coverings installed for the vertical areas below the instrument panel/dash?

    2. I do not se a dead pedal to the left of the clutch. Wasn't that a normal factory installation?

    3. Is the upholstery pattern for the seats correct?

    4. The fuels tanks looked to be polished instead of the correct natural metal finish.

Correct, I’ve said it before, and I’ll likely say it again. You’re perfectly entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. Enjoy.
