I made a steak. Tossed some onions on top. Chopped up a potato and baked them in olive oil in the oven. But they weren't done when I took the picture. Image Unavailable, Please Login

too lazy to cook last night (I had already prepped and started marinating some Indian-spiced chicken and onions for tonight), so we just made a quick guacamole and some cheese from the fridge to go with the baguette we risked our lives to go pick up.

    Low country boil.

Chorizo, cheddar brats, honey gold and red portatoes, silver queen corn, shallots, boiling onions, whole garlic cloves, and of course shrimp. A couple of sticks or real salted butter melted with Old Bay seasoning, voila!

Didnt turn out too bad. I may take my friends recommendation I use broth and heat it up to bring some extra flavor. Same with the beer.

I've only been in the eating end of a seafood boil, never the cooking end. So, you boil all that stuff up together, then finish with the melted butter and Old Bay?

P.s. Those tumblers look exactly like the ones we got from IKEA!

Tumblers??? Do you mean the blue Solo cup?

Boil water, potatoes for 10 min, add sausage for 10 min, add garlic and onions for 5, add corn for 3, add shrimp for 75 SECONDS, drain and pour melted butter with old bay on top. Tradition says pour it on the table on top of newspaper ( we use brown paper grocery bags), and enjoy!

I always peel the shrimp first. I like my guests to be able to eat vs. do what i consider additional food prep...

Thanks for the recipe. Seems straightforward. The tumbler in the upper right of your pic. Looks to have water in it. Looks identical to what we bought from IKEA...T

Last night was pasta. Angel hair with a little tomato sauce, and crushed red pepper.

Tonight was lovely, after multiple days of rain and cloud. So, we grilled out. Smashed burgers F-chat style. Each meatball was about 2 oz before being smashed. Cooked on a wicked hot CI griddle. About 625 F. 1 min per side, rest for 5 min. The fire is pecan wood.

    You love your opera. Lol

You should make a poll in silver and see who all watches and attends the opera.

I always had a good time attending orchestras as a kid.

This is definitely different for us... We usually only listen to the Saturday matinees from the Met, but with these being offered we're tuning in. Different experience to watch them. We've only made it to the end of a couple of them - by the time we turn it on 3 hours is too late for us!

Lol. I get that. I'm lucky if I make it passed 11.

I also meant to ask how you're brewing your coffee?

I think I'm going to thaw out the bag of crawfish I have in the freezer and peel them and do something with them. I came across this guy yesterday. A really good source for Asian cooking. Don't you have a wok Tom?

Nice little espresso maker. I bought one for the office too. It used to be Prime for about $100.

    Nice.

I've been thinking about giving coffee a try again. I have a french press now I inherited from my aunt after she moved back to Florida after my uncle passed a few years ago. It's never been used. But coffee was making me so jittery and screwed up my focus, which is already hard enough.
