This is what I am trying to figure out. On the cars Ferrari spec sheet it says “Blu Helen”. It has the option listed at £16,109.

Ask a sample of “Blu Micalizzato”.
    Very deep dark metallic blue.
If you need the color code or internal number let me know by DM.

I love the New TDF Blue - its call TDF 70th Anniversary. Has a slighter brighter blue look with less of the purple in it.

I could live with that, however the more darker ones are still more attractive...

I suspect Bamsefar might be looking for a darker blue, but here’s a few pics of Blu Simond on our 812SF. It was first created by FChat’s Traveller for his tdf. As the photos suggest, it’s a pretty mercurial color that can look more blue, gray, or even black depending on ambient lighting.

Good luck with your choice. Lots of great options!

After reading this, I went out to my car. The paint label on the underside of my 812's hood says "Blu Tour De France 70." Does that mean that they used the new tdf color rather than the older tdf?

FWIW, I agree with every element of this.
    - I love Blu America! TDF and Pozzi are ok, but America is the s**t. (Personally over Crema or Beige daytona seats with contrast stitching.)
    - TM, even Atelier, on a Porto is pissing money away; you can still do a very good spec from the standard list.
    - TM on a forever 812 GTS...if you're in the lucky position to financially do this then go for it! In 20 years that will still be looked at as a very special car.
    - I've never driven the V12 VantageS but the auto gearbox in the V8 S (which I think has the same box as the V12) is a POS. A 4.7L manual V8 Vantage is a bargain "end of an era" analogue sportscar, but the flappy-paddle version would drive me crazy.

Scott: I’m sorry I didn’t see your reply until today, must have missed it earlier. But yes, my car is indeed Blu Helena. With regards to cost, hard to say since it’s lumped into the “other options” category which ended up being sizable.

Even if the Aston gearbox (robo III or something like that, yes I believe it is the same on the V8 and V12 version) is a POS I might end up with it after all. The Aston V12S Roadster is still, and maybe even more so now in recesion, a better (cheaper?) bargain (always debatable). I could easily keep my FF and the Aston Martin Vantage V12S Roadster - two at the price of one?

Great thread I'm a big fan of blue

Probably too light for the OP, but here's Blue Chiaro (the modernish one; the original is almost green)

As said above Blue Metallico is incredible in real life; somebody I know had a 812 done in it! I would like to see Blue Abu Dhabi IRL

Looking at some of the most frequently shared metallic blue colors on this thread would the correct sequencing be:

(Lighter) TDF Blue > Le Mans Blue > Blu America > Blu Profondo (Darker)

    Hi there,

Figured I might chime in, as I am a complete color nut.

Helen and Profondo will not have the purple touch you are looking for, as they are inky blacks (which I do not like either). America as well as Le Mans will give you the deep metallic blue with a purple sheen in some lights. Black "accents" such as wheels and carbon shields will bring the purple out more and deepen the color (although I would never do black wheels etc. on such a car).

    Hope that helps.
