I saw this one in the suburbs of Melbourne today. The person driving it almost stalled it while getting it going and I could hear him struggle with the clutch afterwards as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Auction during Retromobile show in Paris next February for a Swiss Titanio manual gearbox # 156243 estimated at a quite low 240/280 k€
Don't forget buyer premium + custom fees + VAT About these fees, how many % does pay an american citizen when he buys a car in Europe and imports it to the USA?
No custom fees from Switzerland to Europe, the 10 % announced by Artcurial is a mistake. But 15 % buyer's premium + VAT, YES !
Yes this is this one that I saw in Geneva, Switzerland, on mid-December. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I think I read somewhere (here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/a-gated-599-gtb-with-a-gto-engine.616657/) the €281K is all inclusive (with a hammer price of only €210K) ; Switzerland not being part of the EU I'm not sure how VAT works (within EU for instance there is only VAT on a price difference, not on total selling price, unless the VAT was reclaimed in the originating country). With just auction fees on top of €210K the selling price would have been €250.32K, so there is some additional tax accounted for in the selling price - besides, it's always in the best interest of the auction house to disclose a price including as much as possible.
You would pay VAT at the rate applicable of your EU importing country on the hammer price. Or ex-EU in our case here, 20%. It still makes this a cheap car by the standards of asking prices. Did someone pick up a bargain?
No, the hammered price was 210 but not sold. there was an "aftermarket" discussion and the car sold around 236 then Artcurial adds 16 % commission + 20% TVA ONLY on these 16 %, which brings to 281k. Price for Swiss buyers. If you are English like Darius or French like you, you pay 20 % VAT extra but if you are German you will pay 19 %, etc... I did pay 20 % on my Swiss 599 to register in France.
All makes sense. 281k seems very low for a gated 599 with no stories. Not long ago my gated 575 would have been valued at that. I feel someone got a very good deal, do we know who bought it, an owner or a dealer to flip? I’m annoyed, I would for sure have bought at that price as I guess would many people here.

I had the pleasure of driving this car last week. What a joy Especially with a manual 550 Maranello to 'compare' it to.
Just to confirm that. Great list, thanks for all the hard work! Natan Image Unavailable, Please Login
Vastly different cars actually. The 550 is a more comfortable GT with relatively heavy but very smooth inputs (steering, brake, clutch) and the engine offers lots of low-down torque. The 599 feels much more modern and 'alive' because of the engine, although you need to be very precise with the clutch and accelerator because of the lightweight flywheel. It might be a challenge to drive for inexperienced drivers, but I do not agree at all with people claiming the 599 is difficult to drive or this engine and gearbox are not a good match. It is such a great car to drive!
