So that means MotoGP teams can't come to COTA for the race April 5. Edit: I just double checked and the race was delayed to Nov.
5 now - https://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/28888215/two-more-haas-team-members-tested-coronavirus MELBOURNE, Australia -- Five members of the Formula One paddock have now been tested for coronavirus after two more Haas employees reported potential symptoms on Thursday morning in Melbourne. The results of two Haas team members and a McLaren team member, who were tested on Wednesday, are expected later on Thursday and could dictate whether this weekend's season-opening Australian Grand Prix goes ahead. Speaking before the news broke of the additional Haas team members being tested, Brett Sutton, chief health officer for the sate of Victoria, told Melbourne radio station 3AW that any positive tests among the F1 community could result in the race being called off. "I think for these three crew members, if they turn up positive, we need to consider what it means for their close contacts and if they have a number of close contacts across a number of crews, then those individuals need to be quarantined," he said. "If that effectively shuts down the race, then so be it, we'll make that call.
Unfortunately not; I think we would prefer to be isolated from the US; can’t see US health care coping with this very well. problem is the media is hyping this up out of all proportion, and our politicians are reacting to it in the usual way. yes, some countries need to take more action than others; but listening to the BBC this morning “...,viewer question...”what is the survival rate?” “... well very high actually, most people won’t even know they have it...” 30 seconds later. “...in a few weeks our hospitals will be overwhelmed and look like field hospitals...”. Give me a f****ing break! Talk about stoking panic and over reaction. anyway,
Based on current growth rates for March I estimate over 1 million cases by the end of April. If more we are loosing, if less, making progress. Keep that number in mind. As for F1, completely irresponsible.
I dont watch the Beeb but they need something to spice up the show otherwise we would all drop off our sofa's in boredom Nothing said about the 30+ people who died as a result of a strep outbreak in Essex last year. There is no doubt the virus is dangerous but the genie is out of the bottle - far to late to react now.
It's a very worrying problem to say the least, seems to me it's a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted...
The Australian GP now is the lesser of the problems. That guy from McLaren brought the disease from England, they'll have to quarantine more staff and maybe close the factory for a while. I'm afraid that the F1 season this year will begin in June.
I think he was referring to the way countries are dependant on China commercially and strategically. Plain and simple, it was a mistake to integrate China in the world affairs as if it was a "normal" country. Some people blame Ronald Reagan for it, but he thought that if China integrated commercially to the west, then democracy would come and the tecno-communist state would disappear. Unfortunatelly it just made China a communist superpower. China nowadays is using artificial inteligence to control its people and will use it as a warfare tool. There are tens of thousands of Chinese master and PhD students in the USA with the sole intent to later bring home that knowledge and use it to make China even more powerful.
Exactly what Italy didn't do! In February some people suggested to put the kids coming from the Chinese Year's vactions in quarantine, but the do-gooders said that it would be "racist".
