I’m in love!
It sounds like 500 of each type so 1000 total. Hope they do bring it to the USA. The grill looks a lot better than the current Giulia's. I hope it makes it to the 2021 restyle.
Agreed. Heres what they say Production of the GTA variants will be limited to just 500 units, "all numbered and certified and ready to take up their place alongside their 1965 forerunner as one of the most sought-after collector’s items," said Alfa's announcement. Realisticaly whats the point, still too heavy and likely to be too compromised for road use. A cool toy? I can see this being pulled up at some trendy places to make an arrival, and probably there are 500 sales in that. But the instant collectable market is passe.. Its is making buzz, creating publicity for the brand and the investment isn't huge. If they were 80K per copy it might be a proposition as a inexpensive charisrmatic out the box track car. But the price is likely to be double that, what with it being collectable and all. I guess if subaru can sell expensive specials why not alfa. All this tells me is they have no new product. More inetresting and rlevant would have been a 6c on the 4c tub with this motre and wishbones.
I believe on Alfa mentioned on it's website or the YouTube channel that they have more news soon, quite possibly the Tonale. And too heavy ? Mwoah, it's lighter than a BMW M2 Competition. First deliveries seem to start in summer 2021.
Is it lighter. The two seat prob non road legal in USA version is, the road legal version with Ac etc?. Whats it going to cost Vs a M2 competition. As i said at 80k its a cool car. Yes Tonale coming at some point. But thats hardley a full product line. By the time they replace the Gulia it will be 10 years old, which Im good with because I have one and will be happy to get another a few years from now before thyere gone. The Gulia is an exceptional car, from the way its built to the mechanical bits used. Unlikely well see something so good and built to such a performance standard again. The GTA is a publicity stunt to give the Gulia/Alfa a shot in the arm momentum by putting Alfa and the Gulia front and center for a few moments, as in hey were still here., probably cheaper than advertsising. Makes sense , they dont have new product to roll out and have to keep energy for the Gulia with declining sales. Allt he magazines will etst the GTA and Alfa will be in the enws again. Sadly what they need is improved dealer network and way better customer support, (the product is excellent), but everyone always gives it the reliabillty question mark and 70% of customers couldnt tell the difference between how an alfa drives and a lexus...
Agreed, But it will look dramatic in Miami pulling up somewhere. A few years from now well see kids in 3rd hand used Gulias with these bodykits. its a cool car, and would love to try one on track for the fun of it, but its not something one would actualy buy for that.
Watched gta videos and its cool car but main question is did they make tc/esp off button? Without that, its not worth effort. With it its an italian amg black series. Big wing looks like suburu though
The same exclusivity found in Giulia GTA and Giulia GTAm will also characterize a dedicated customer experience, designed to treat the 500 owners to "a unique interaction that is 100 percent Alfa Romeo." After the advance bookings, which are now officially open and will close as soon as the 500th unit has been reserved, the sales process will be one-to-one, with a brand ambassador product specialist following each customer from order to delivery. The new owners will also receive a personalized experience package kit, which includes a Bell helmet in special GTA livery, a full racing set by Alpinestars (race suit, gloves and shoes) and a personalized Goodwool car cover for protecting his or her GTA or GTAm. In addition to other equipment for true enthusiasts, the Alfa Romeo customer experience also includes a specific driving course devised by the Alfa Romeo Driving Academy.
i get alfisti will want to collect it for future value as a special car but problem will be most people wont be able to tell difference between $100k plus gta and the 399/month lease gulias that run in newspapers every day. i really wish those ads would go away.
The idea is to create halo for those lesser Guilias. The gta and gtam are pure marketing out of the Ferrari playbook. Pity they feel the need to stoop so low. But I guess it creates “buzz” for Alfa and right now they’ll take whatever they can get. Alfa sadly has no new product. Alacantara spoilers and big wheels will have to carry the day, at least they didn’t do racing stripes. if the cars had been right in 17 and if they had dealer service like Lexus, and a fuller product range they might have succeeded. let’s hope the next car is not a rebadged Chrysler. It’s lot as though the Italians would not go there. Tc Maserati anyone. I like mine so much that in 3 years maybe I’ll go for a quadrifoglio, it’s not as though a replacement is anywhere near. right low a Gulia is the Best Buy in a new car you can make, by far.
agreed. i can get almost everything i want if i get a stelvio qf which combines the v6 with awd and can get a sunroof too which i really like having. just dont really want suv body and high suspension. wish they would put all that into a guilia. also, not sure i would spend 85k for car that doesnt allow drifting or launching either. that is a big missing piece no one seems to talk about. need to get alfa to fix that!
for a suv the stelvio drives great, but it’s a completely different thing to the Gulia. In comparison the stelvio feels big and ponderous. Yes makes no sense they don’t offer the stelvio features on the Gulia quad. As you say more than strange a performance car has no nanny turn off Switch. Classic Alfa then, brilliant car not fully baked, but still worth it.
Alfa’s problem is not the product, it’s the Chrysler dealer network that sells and services the product and its customers.
Italiancars is 100% correct, the big spread in dealer service among Alfa dealers is as wide as the grand canyon. and the American car buyer in particular will not put up with it, ESPECIALLY if your only service option is 1hr+ away from you. all you need to do is go on the Giulia forum and that is really the biggest gripe. Not the lack of a sunroof in a QV or lack of AWD. case in point is myself, I bought my QV in Dec. 2016 from a NY dealer and the 1 time I needed service to take care of an issue, they could not effect the fix. I brought my car to a dealer in CT (Miller) and they fixed the car in 48 hours and it has been on the money since. have I had software updates done? yes and they were done quickly and there was one recall for an alarm module, which again was done quickly.
my service is half hr away so not too inconvenient and they did job well. sales dealer was excellent too. I have read about dealer complaints and reliability complaints especially but so far yr and half 12k miles and no issues
again you and I are fortunate when compared to some of the stories I see/read (assuming they are factual). my dealer is 15 minutes door to door now that they opened a new dedicated Alfa service facility.
have to be lucky sometimes. I had about half dozen range rovers over 20 yrs and never had issue. ever. and rr was always last on jd powers reliability list. go figure...
this is related to the fact there are for the most part 2 types of Alfa (and Maserati) dealerships in the USA. The dealers from the old Ferrari/Maserati network with better trained staff that treat their customers like they purchased an upscale product. Then there is the majority of the dealerships which are from the Chrysler network with poorly trained staff and a mass market mindset that treat the customers like they purchased an expensive Dodge. Adding to the problem is that the entire corporate management of Alfa are Chrysler transfers and it is run out of Auburn Hills. This is what has absolutely destroyed Maserati’s sales. Unfortunately the culture that exists at corporate and In the dealer network is Mopar Blue, not Rosso Corsa.
@italiancars , that is for the most part true, however in my case my selling dealer WAS one of the original Alfa dealers in the country, so you would think they they would "get-it" but their service was woeful! I now go to an Alfa/Maserati/Ferrari dealer for service and all is as you mentioned
