Pirogi's, Pirogi's, Pirogi's! I'm not tired of them yet...we brought the last ones from the giant batch her mom made for us back with us...so our first dinner back in London was...Pirogi's. And a salad, principally to alleviate some guilt. The northern Rhone red was pretty fine too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
AzIt...I need a consult from someone Polish who is an expert at baking. Know anyone like that? These were on sale at Kroger. Image Unavailable, Please Login Given all your posts about Ania and her mom's baking acumen, I turned to the wife and said "Polish baked goods? I'm all in in!!" So, do they really eat these in Poland on Fat Tuesday? T
Depression Era grub tonight. After seeing FCMD's recent post, it reminded me that my grandma told be that they are dandelions during the Depression. Unlike my grandma, these are not weeds yanked from the back yard, but organic from Whole Foods. Yeah, I know, the old gal would be so disappointed! Sautéed onions in olive oil, added the dandelion greens, then salt, pepper and garlic powder. Wilted them. Image Unavailable, Please Login Wife: These are bitter! Me: Well, I'm sure if they tasted like steak, people would have eaten them after the Great Depression! There about as bitter as collards IMO. T
I had Popeyes chicken for the first time. I had to “old time it” - bought it in the afternoon on my way home, leave it out at room temp for dinner. Only thing missing was a brown paper bag. Really good despite not being hot. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I just had one as dessert after dinner, and best as I can figure it is a Polish jelly donut. The one I got was lemon filling, which is awesome as I love any kind of sweet with lemon flavor! T
You'd love my moms lemon squares. These. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/frozen-lemon-squares-2118261
Popeyes is pretty good cold. We had a Church's chicken, not sure if its the same as the states. They went bankrupt. They sold cold chicken at a discount, it wasn't bad...………. Got tired of salads. Broke down and got a bacon cheeseburger combo at Fatburger, yummy! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Didn’t get to my chili today, got busy. PA for gas and lunch, then the last two fluorescent lights on the main floor - four bulbs replaced with LEDs! Think I’m done. Snacks to start. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gotta catch-up and post several meals... First up, dinner at The Polish Hearth Club in London. Had dinner at the club before a concert in honor of Chopin's Birthday. Great night. Made a trip across town to one of our long-time London favorites, Tayyabs. I'm sure I've posted from here before. It was yummy, but we actually concluded that its no longer our favorite of the "Indian meat" places...we prefer Tandoor Chop House lately. Anyways, we had a lot of things: - Pappadoms and chutneys - Garlic Naan - Tandoor cheese - Two veggies; Okra and spinach - Tandoor grill: King prawns and then a mixed grill with chicken, lamb chops and lamb shish kabob Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
