Holy cow I wish I knew this 2 years ago! Thanks very much for that info. Had no clue. Will do it tomorrow for sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I believe they also open just if you “punch” the throttle so could also be below 4krpm as mentioned Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A good place to start. But if you can, change your order to the Capristo controller. Performs the same task, for less than half the price. And the Capristo is programmable. I would also like to point out that I have had both the Novi controller parts and the Capristo controller parts in my hands, and I think the Capristo strikes me as a higher quality. At any rate, start with the controller and see how you like it. Then if you want more, you can change to x pipe and change the back box. If you don't plan on messing with the cats, I would suggest the Capristo rears. They add both volume and change the sound to a more raw tone. The Novi boxes by themselves on stock cats, does sound nice, but the level remains fairly unchanged. They really need either 100 cell cats nor test pipes to open up - at which point it gets stupid loud for a GT. A decatted Novi exhaust on a V12 Lusso gets call-the-police obnoxiously loud. Sounds coll, but it's not for everyone. A system using Capristo X and rears, adds some db, but it remains tolerable, especially when the valves are closed. Yes, I went with Capristo controller, and also their X-Pipe in fact. But with Novitec back box. No change to cats, as that creates all sorts of issues (noise, warranty, UK MOT emissions fail).
I can agree...I have the full Novitec and especially on cold start, it is obnoxious loud. Like everybody in a 6 block radius turn and look at me loud. I also have a slight smell of exhaust (which i will be checking for a small leak somewhere) but i think it could just be from the cat delete. It is definitely fun on a Saturday spirited drive but is too much for a Monday morning commute to the office, which is what I use the Lusso for. I have toyed with putting the stock cats back on and seeing what that yields but haven't had time to move my 4 post into the new house yet. WOT it is as loud as any F1 car you may have heard.
Why remove the cats though? That’s where the smell comes from. Even on my TR I’d get nauseous with test pipes so I put them back on, u are right too much on a GT car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I replaced them with test pipes when doing the full exhaust and now will be putting them back on. The exhaust smell is just too much, especially on a GT.
Natkingcolebasket69 is right. Your car does not smell because of a leak, it smells because of the straight pipes. That is one thing Novi and the rest of them forget to tell you. A cat delete will make your nice Ferrari smell like a 35 year old rust bucket. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I ordered the parts in January, but the Novitec back box has yet to arrive. I'm told there is high demand for that, and a waiting list. Should be very soon though.
Vivid racing Also take a look at Capristo. Same or better quality. But quite a bit cheaper. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Checked out pricing and timing for both Novitec full system and Capristo - valved sport mufflers with x-pipe and controller. Massive difference in price. My question is will the Capristo scratch my itch for being significantly louder than stock? Anything to avoid or watch out for?
