For clarity: “Tailor Made” is Ferrari’s customized offering. “Taylor Made” is a brand of golf clubs. Matt
I've seen that quite a few times. Has always struck me as Mr. Taylor is a pretty busy guy, building all those cars
Back to this old thread... I had a TM appointment in January earlier this year for my 812 GTS and I am still awaiting a final word on special specs I asked for. Obviously I have therefore no idea of when the production process may start... Does anyone have a similar (long) experience ?
What's the point of this except feeling superior for 30 secondes ? Everybody understands what OP is talkin' about. "i" or "y" who the f__ cares ?
Ouch that’s a long wait to get the specs confirmed! Intrigued to see a TM spec for a GTS... do you have any pics? ive heard from my dealer that GTS order books are softening so hopefully you’ll get yours soonish...!
it's the time to change dealer my friend!! )) Of course I am kidding but in my experience, already three cars done with TM, depends a lot from the dealer too I got mine before a lot of regular car....including Pista Spider It seems same will happen for GTS
A bit of light hearted banter. No need to take things so seriously. I also answered the question to the best of my abilities Oh, and I did not feel superior for 30 seconds. I feel on top all day long Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yup. It’s the same point as quoting a couple of 9-month old posts in order to condescendingly ridicule them. Matt
My TM Pista was spec'ed at Maranello in Dec 2018, took until about Feb / March 2019 to get the design right / finally signed off. Car arrived with me April 2020. Yep... it took a while, but was worth the wait!
It really comes down to how involved the TM build is. Some are quite easy to do and others have a lot more to them. The dealer has very little control over the entire process.
Yes , TM appointment in January. We came out pretty quickly with something my son and I really liked. There were a few unusual features for which feasibility was questioned and got no final response until then. This is my first TM experience and really wanted to do it for the Gts as it is a car that I plan to keep forever.
Not sure I understood everything, I don’t see the problem with the TM. Talking about ferrari is talking about something very exclusive anyway. TM is part of it. It has nothing to do with feeling superior, it is just about having a very unique car with almost unrestricted possibilities. A petrolhead dream. Yes it is expensive, all Ferrari cars are. Yes it’s pretty exclusive, all ferrari cars are. Any problem with that on ferrarichat would be quite surprising...
There's a misunderstanding Jack. I was just angry against two guys who cound't resist correcting or noticing a typo mistake made by OP : "Taylor" instead of "Tailor" Nothing wrong with TM, it's a fabulous experience, the dream of my life, I have so much ideas, like a 812 GTS in Grigio Lava triplo strato (Maserati range) with "poltrona frau " Cotto leather interior
I wish you guys would stop suggesting amazing colors and spec. The process is hard enough without FOMO. I’m waiting on my burnito color approval and cost but I agree with you on the quality upgrade leather although I’m shooting for a more vintage treatment and color then Cotto. I do love your spec idea. I’ll bite how does Grigio Granito compare to Grigio lava? Seems like we’re all looking for the perfect shade of gray for this one. Obviously you’ve seen it up close but lava seems pretty close to Silverstone? Do you need red seats?
do you mean something like this? brunito + heritage mahagoni Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Unfortunately I haven't seen it in flesh, but according to the many pictures (The max I could) I've seen, Grigio lava is the perfect grey to me, it looks like a mix of Silverstone and Ferro. Grigio granito is quite different, it's a very dark grey that can look almost black under poor light condition. At night most of the witnesses (Sorry I watch too much crime stories ahah) would describe it as black For the interior, I absolutely LOVE @markmoon's poltron afrau "Cotto" interior
I LOVE that color leather, and was going to do it on my GTS. When we enquired, Ferrari told us it was a Tailor Made option and would delay the car 6-8 Months. I opted to pass due to additional lead time. Order was placed December last year and I believe the car is in transit now. Another 8 months and it would have been a nearly 18 month process.
Absolutely in love with this spec! Just did TM on 812GTS today (delayed 4 times due to COVID) - great experience.
