So much for the marketing hype that it was going to be around a 60k car.

Without all the extra leather and carbon and the be-the-first mark up its very close.

Looking forward to seeing these in the metal.

honestly... looks like a very fair deal!! from what i read the Carbon Ground effect package will no longer be offered, as supplier cant keep up with demand.. really adds to the car IMO.
    Good luck with sale!!

Visible CF ground effects is no longer offered on 2020 cars and can be ordered and dealer installed later.

From my dealer 2 weeks ago

Got the official word yesterday that option code 5VM, Visible carbon fiber ground effects pkg will be removed from order guide and current orders due to inadequate supply of parts. GM felt it could be available as an LPO option over the parts counter in the very near future.

*Those of you that have orders placed with this option and have target production weeks will have first opportunity to purchase that package when it becomes readily available this Spring.

Below is the email from GM last night.

"Due to an inadequate supply of parts, it was necessary to remove the Visible Carbon Fiber Ground Effects (5VM) option from your order(s). At this point in time, we anticipate this accessory will remain restricted from LPO ordering for the remainder of the 2020MY. Further Dealer and customer communications will be forthcoming once this supply issue has been resolved."

Mine will run a hair over 80K -- and its a convertible which is a 7 grand option. There's a huge flexibility on options to buy -- just like Ferrari.

Yes I agree. I expect dealers to have about 20-30K mark ups when first delivered. Some dealers in CA were getting 10K just allow a customer to pre- order one.

looks great, when are you expecting delivery? Very much looking forward to your review (Compliment due - I find your take valuable given the breadth of cars you have had and your ability to distill out the badge from the car).

There will be drop outs so more will be available as a 2020. Check with the big dealers. Except for a scant few all dealers are selling at MSRP. MSRP+ is for more money than brains. Mine is coming in at the mid 80's at MSRP.

    Wow double the money
Give it a year or two get a better car bug free
First time in a long time GM produces a mid engine car, remember the Fiero
Personally I would wait a couple years, the discontinued carbon package says it all

Honestly, I don't see them going over MSRP. These times are over. There are to many alternatives out there.
I miss the uniqueness of a Vette. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice car and so. But at the end it's the US version, a copycat of a Audi R8. Makes sense for a good price tag and I would buy one, just don't have a user case. Paying over MSRP for this????? NEVER!!!!!

The seller very clearly posted the build sheet showing the car retailing for $95k.

    Their ask is not “double.”

At some point in time communications are going to only be effective with 6 word sentences ;)

Still would not touch a first year car let alone a first time ever mid-ship Vet

I agree, but there are plenty of idiots out there with more money than brains and restraint who will pony up their money to get one quickly. My sister owns a Chrysler dealership and I bought one of the first PT Cruisers from her at about $18,000 and flipped it to some idiot for $26,000. I felt kind of bad for the guy and even told him that this was going to be mass produced automobile, and that if he waited six months he could buy it under sticker, but no he wanted it right then.

I actually think it would only be stupid if the person didn't believe you that pricing would come way down and/or if the person didn't get a lot of enjoyment of being "first" to have something new.

He basically paid $8k for the privilege.

    To each his own.

Nola: Well if he believed me and did it anyway I think that’s pretty stupid/ impulsive, and if he didn’t believe me, at the very least, he was ignorant. But I get it, to each his their own.
