I find it incredible that these low mileage Phantom Hardtop Coupes can be had for close to $100k. This particular car was almost $510k new. They're huge, but I love'em.

No other car loses money faster then a British car. Never understood why.

Only reason I can come up with is that they are bought as a status symbol mainly (my assumption) and the owners want the newest model. Therefore the used market is non-existent so without demand the price has to drop like a rock. Modern cars are pretty dang reliable so I don't think service/parts is the main reason. Fcars have a lot of enthusiasts so the used car market is better propped up for the sports cars. GT stuff like Lusso not as much.

I like RRs a lot so I'm in the minority. Beautiful cars and I love the attention to detail. Nice buy OP.

    True.

However the British have been known for a very long time to be complete rubbish at building a car. From the Lucas electronics, to the cars falling apart and rusting away. That has changed, but the stigma remains. Not so sure they can shake it either.

British could not hold a candle compared to Italians, in ability to produce cars that would start rusting before even leaving the factory

Living in the UK and growing up in the 70's every single car on the road regardless as to where it came from very soon turned to a pile of rust. We still heavily salt our roads (which is harsh on cars sold here regardless) in winter and must be one of the worst nations in the world at driving in the slightest showing of snow. Japanese cars at that time followed by Italian (though maybe at times Italian cars were worse) were the worst. However in fairness my first car a Ford Cortina was built in the UK. It was five when I bought it and eight or nine when I sold it. I was already on the second round of replacing rotted panels :D

It does seem that British cars also have a stigma for leaving one's drive black with oil :D Despite most companies being owned by none UK owners we still have this stigma.
This pretty much follows Italian cars too. Here in the UK Italian cars are still reputed to be one of the most unreliable cars on the road and apparently they all rust and electrically all fail. Usually said by none owners.
French cars suffer a similar stigma.
American cars have engines made of pig iron, inefficient and can't go around corners. Again all ******** but it is a stigma they're stuck with here.

German and Japanese cars however are all considered good except in the case of owners of German cars, well we're all arseholes who hog the outside lane and never use turn signals :p

And little known fact old Italian cars use some or all Lucas systems. So it's a Lucas wiring harness Installed by an Italian car company what could possibly go wrong.
