This is probably the best Mach IV H2 on the market. When these were released in the early 70's, they were light-years ahead of anything else on the market.

This example underwent a $35k+ restoration (w/ receipt) less than 200 miles ago and looks new.

At the time is was the most powerful 750 on the market producing 74hp from its 2-stroke 3-cylinder engine, while weighing only 422 pounds. A 12 second flat quarter mile at the time was extremely quick as well.

(My '05 GSX-R 750 with 150hp is "only" 1.5 seconds quicker through the quarter!)

If you are looking for great bike to ride or to display, this is a good one.

    Serial/VIN #: H2F-19369

    That looks awesome!
I remember in the early-mid 80's it seemed like 90% of the bikes on the road were
either Kaw 650's or 900's. Today you cannot even see one.
Back then you could tell one F1 car from another, and one brand of MC from another,
    but today.... not so much.

Awesome machine. As a younger man, i had many pantshidding experiences on this bike, the successor waterbuffalo, and many RD350's, 400 and gamma 500's.

    very cool bike.

That is awesome. You definitely do not see them on the road very often. Does yours see much asphalt use anymore?

Never. I’d rather ride my Ducati or KTM adventure bike.

This is reality. Modern motorcycles are so much better than what we used to ride. I loved my 1970 Triumph Bonneville. But, I sold it because I was tried of getting a proctology exam every time I road it.

Yes but better is a subjective term. I had a Diavel and a V4 Panigale. Both gone but I still like riding my 86 XL600r. Rolling the kick start through just past tdc and taking a deep breath before it either a-starts or b- breaks your shin in half just can't be matched by hitting a start button. :)

I would like to someday have a modified version of one of these just to do 2nd and 3rd gear burnouts with.

That is a little close to home as I am restoring my '67 Bonneville.

Brits never figured out how to split a crankshaft. Both pistons move up and down together. It normally takes about 15 minutes for your butt to become numb. My '70 had a fifth gear from a newer model. That helped a lot.

A kid in our neighborhood had an orange Kawasaki H1 500, which he rode like a maniac. Amazing he never killed himself on it. I was too young to ride then, but I remember him pulling wheelies, etc. He and the bike assumed an almost mythical status with us youngsters.

Years later, when I turned 17, I worked construction and one of the customers had a brown KZ900, which he was selling because it was too much bike for him. I rode it, and came to the same conclusion. Eventually settled on a Suzuki 550 4 stroke, which was as far as I got with motorcycling.

I must admit I occasionally get the itch for a new Gold Wing.......

The H2 shown above is absolutely gorgeous. I assume it would still be legal (?) to ride, despite the emission issues.

Thank you for the stories and commentary. Yes, back then the bikes were wild and unpredictable (as cars were too).... That is why I have an '05 750.. It was the last year with no electronic traction control... If I mess up, all I can blame are my head and right wrist. haha

Yes, if it can be titled and ridden in California, which it currently is titled, it can be ridden anywhere.

    Same with me...
I rode a Suzuki 380 in the early '80's, have not ridden since, and doubt I ever will, as I
see far too many people looking at their phones when driving (their cars).
Now, if I was to move to a different area of this town, maybe, I have looked at
some pre-owned BMW 1100's and 1200's, you can find nice ones for 5K if
    you look around, cycletrader.com etc.
But then again, no, it's been 35 years...

I highsided a few years ago. Some asshat pulled out of a parking spot right into me, then left the scene. I've been a bit skittish ever since.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, beautiful bike that deserves a good home.
