Caught the start of the NASCAR race at Kentucky last night.

Let's just say the majority of the seats in the grandstands were empty.

It was the Busch League last night...

  3. Is that s'posed to be a news flash???
'More like ancient (it seems, anywho...) history. ;)

On a serious note, however, the two bro's (real ones!) put on a good show at the finish. 'Glad I awoke in time for the restart. :)

While Kyle Busch may have the better record, I like Kurt because of his versatility. He's run NHRA Pro Stock drag racing and he finished 6th in the 2014 Indianapolis 500, never putting a wheel wrong. I'd like to see him try Indy again.

Caught some of the New Hampshire NASCAR race yesterday. Crowd could be best described
    as "sparse" at the least.

It starts to occur that the obvious lack of asses in the seats makes it more and more difficult for
them to sell the series to sponsors and the ad rates for the TV networks which are on for over
    $1B are hard to justify.

Next year, NASCAR shakes up their schedule to include moving the traditional season ending
event at Homestead to the same weekend as the 12 Hours of Sebring. Let's see, an ISC track
which has hosted the season finale and all the manufactured drama that comes with it to a date
that conflicts with one of the most traditional racing events in the world.

Interesting strategy, good luck to them.

  6. I'd say "sparse" at best. I don't care for NASCAR anymore, but it is a shame.

Sebring and Homestead, a whopping 200 miles apart to boot. Nothing like spreading the audience thin.... Brilliance.

And the traditional "Firecracker 400" ( I know, I know...whatever it's been called these days...) at Daytona is no more......insanity.

Whilst at it, 'toss in the good timing on the renovation of the Speedway, too.
Just in time to make a shiny, new, historic site. A racing museum and our own "Colosseum" maybe? o_O

Oh well, as Toffler said, the only thing about change that remains the same is that it keeps happening.

Looking forward to it myself! Still hoping for Clint to make it to the Round of 12, an absolute shame a talentless teammate put us in this position.

I was referring to the distance of the Charlotte oval.

this "roval", which is tight enough to be confused for an autocross track, is far more interesting.

red flag with 7 to go.

NASCAR needs to figure out how to run the last 20 laps of a race in under an hour

you need fans in the stands to sell them to :p

Now if they would just get rid of that pinhead Rutledge Woodie, I used to like the guy ........now I don’t.
Maybe the idiot will run out on the track one day, and get nailed by the winner doing a smoke filled burnout.

Well, even though I made fun of the "Roval", at least yesterday, it appeared to be a huge success. There was certainly a different feel about it for those attending. More excitement than I've seen at a race in years. Announcers on the PA calling it like a horse race, I'm surprised they had any voice left by the end. Even though it was miserably hot, everyone seemed to have a good time.

I've never much like "rovals" like Daytona or Indianapolis, but I do find Charlotte's layout appealing. It was a wild and crazy race, and Chase Elliott is showing himself to be NASCAR's new road-racing star.

Like watching paint dry. I had a brief interest in the late 70s, but the look-a-like spec cars could all be driven by robots for all I care.

    BORING.
