Stock motor will not live up to the suspension/brakes/tires. But the rear tire dropping 2" in height over the stock 60 series should help with the tall gearing. But as of right now I'm not concerned with power, I just want to drive it.

Rear brake bracket was a nightmare to make, but the machinist was able to come up with a solution.

In other news, the Viper had a u-joint strap fail on a WOT 1-2 shift and took out an axle and the rear diff. So 3 of my 4 cars are officially in the air.

Took the DMC out for lunch today, it was all good. Such an easy car to drive.

On the way home, hit a big bump and a few hundred feet later it dies. Definitely fuel related.

Talk to my buddy who got it road worthy and explained how there was a part of the fuse box with a melted housing for a 20AMP fuse and thought that was the likely issue, he threw in a spare 20AMP fuse in case there was a future issue. I check it and bingo, fuse popped.

New fuse in and I'm off. 4 miles down the road it popped again.

Something moved when I hit that bump and is grounding out the fuse for the fuel pump. Time to hunt that down.

Just found what you’re doing and loving it already. Interesting history re. The DMC company.
I’ve often thought the basis of the car is pretty cool but the motor is weak and the wheels are very outdated (I realise there’s the originality factor) so it’d be interesting to see what could be done with a Delorean.
Your build is my new Netflix binge

Ok, I’ve read it all now.
Love the brakes and suspension work.
Imagine it with a 360 powerplant.
Bet those brakes would pull it up no problem with a twin turbo setup.

    Looking forward to more reading

Any thoughts about doing an engine swap?

    https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6007-23TA

Ford Performance offers the high tech, 2018 Mustang 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged engine as a crate engine kit. With turbocharging, direct injection and twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT), this kind of performance comes standard with a dose of adrenaline. The swap possibilities are almost endless; from early street rods, kit cars, most generations of Mustang, to just about any other vehicle build. The Ford Performance Control Pack helps make for an easy plug and play installation (available separately).
    • 2.3L EcoBoost engine as used in the 2018 Mustang
    • 310HP/350 lb.-ft. Torque @ 3,000 rpm (with 93 octane fuel)
    • Designed for traditional rear drive installations

Would be quite a step up from the original plus probably weighs quite a bit less.

It's definitely on my mind and we just happen to have a Kia V6TT race motor that is looking for a home. Good for 450whp on low boost.
