1990, 14,800 km. I flew from Vancouver to Toronto and back in one day to view and purchase. Full engine service done late 2017. Only problem.....car won't be delivered until week of July 8. Pics for now. Some may not yellow (and Pininfarina said the colour should be red) but hey, at least the wheel hubs and steering wheel hubs match the car color. And I like yellow. Congrats Gary! I have an 86 Testarossa and there is a 90 here in Winnipeg as well. Feel free to reach out if you need anything, i've amassed quite a bit of literature on our cars and don't mind sharing. Jeff
Congrats! A big "Freeze....Miami Vice!" out to you. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I would think that Canadian and US cars would be the same. This car was originally sold in Japan and was imported into Canada.
Probably an import when the Japanese real estate bubble was at it's peak in the late 80's Remember Nakatomi towers! lol Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I looked through the Testarossa service manual and apparently only GB and Australia had right hand steering wheels. It is interesting that the VIN: ZFFA17B0000XXXXX supports the car as being European (B) vs J for Japan, also there is no check digit (A) or model number (P) that indicate Japan, although that may only have been done for the earlier models. But the importation documents and the appraisal that was done in 2017 indicate the car as being sold originally in Japan. I've attached a copy of the page from the service manual.
for some reason the Japanese buy their exotic cars in the format of their home country, so for Italian cars for example they almost always choose LHD despite them driving on the correct side of the road (!) as it is seen as more prestigious. Beautiful TR, looks great in yellow
Thanks for all the comments. The yellow colour gets attention....some could almost call it arresting!!! LOL Exotics have got a lot of attention in my area lately. https://bc.ctvnews.ca/mclaren-driver-only-had-car-for-10-minutes-before-ticket-impound-police-1.4484046 Anyway, the car is scheduled to be delivered July 11 or 12. I'll post some pictures.
Congrats on getting the TR! Yellow is awesome and is what I was looking for when I fell in love with a White/Red model.
Car arrived today!! Feels almost like Christmas. Had to do a safety inspection (Ontario to BC) which of course it passed. Some minor things that I already knew about (suspension bushings for example and new tires), but no problem. Here are a few more pics - inlcuding the engine bay. Oh, and also attached of a photo of a sticker from the driver's visor - in japanese. Just a few thoughts on driving. I was tentative based on what I had read about the manual steering, stiff shifting when cold, etc. Manual steering, yes is a bit of a challenge at low speeds. Shifting, no problem after letting it run for a few minutes, but I then also, I always double-clutch. Does that ever make a difference for this car. Everything becomes so much smoother and the gated shifter - I would never want to go without one again. Quite easy to drive and man, when you hit 3000 rpm, it's like a rocket booster kicked in. I love this car and plan to add a few more km to its 14,633.
