As with all new Ferrari's, it needs to be seen in the flesh to approve it's design. Like the 812, it doesn't look pretty in certain angles, but in others it does.
Would look much nicer with a set of red rocker covers to break up all that darkness in the engine bay.

Ducting claimed to be for brake cooling per the attached PDF. Also mentions flow management in the wheel well. From a design point of view I think the the intent was to go with a mostly horizontal LED headlight to transition to "new design language" for future cars but still retain some continuity with existing line up. Also, as the front fender cut line remains pretty far up the fender the visual volume of the opening fills what would be a large space.
Agree... overall I think it's great but at certain angles it looks odd. Personally I think the Pista is better looking evolution of the 488 shape. It has a cleaner more focused (less cluttered) look.
