You ought to go over to St. Maarten and watch the jetliners come in low over Maho Beach as they're about to land.

Sometimes, they take off in the opposite direction, which can be thrilling as well:

That’s crazy stuff to see, but the island is still a mess.

I just spent a week on the island, I would hardly call it a mess. With the exception of a few locations you wouldn't even realize there was a hurricane unless you're looking specifically for damage.

Mostly roof repair and busted out windows etc. To be honest I've been to many Caribbean islands and most of them always have some sort of construction going on ;-)

I don’t know about that yacht but I’d imagine $30-40k for the week.

Aruba. Great beaches,, no hurricanes, sea is same warm temperature year round, little crime. Loads of restaurants. Hire a jeep of some sort and drive around the wild side of the island. Loads of little secluded beaches. There's a natural pool on that side of the Island also which is really cool, on most days big waves crash into the rocks and the more water gets into the pool. Dos playa for swinging in the waves/surfing

You sure those flamingos are real? They rather look like the plastic replicas I often see on front lawns....

Been to Aruba 4 times and LOVE it there. Both my Inlaws are turning 70 and decided on taking the WHOLE family an all paid trip to Maui this summer. I'm not a big fan of Hawaii, But hey, We have no choice, We are fortunate to have this opportunity.

Nice Armen, enjoy the vacation regardless. Could be worse places to go to! :D Which resort do you normally stay at in Aruba? Used to go to Costa Linda but loads more hotels these days.

    I went to Aruba in 1979, 1981, 1997 & 2000.
I remember the Hyatt and Marriott.

Maui will be nice. Looking forward to it.

I would imagine 100-150K per week, plus fuel, food & drink, + 15% Tip.

You’re right. I just rented a 75 foot yacht for May. $40k for 5 days plus tip. So 150 foot yacht is likely 3x that price. Food and alcohol is typically included.

Ditch Atlantis. I'm there all the time. It's over priced, the property is tired and the staff is apathetic.
St Barths and Anguilla would be my picks.

Or, rent a boat in the Exumas. Aprox $75K all in for a 70ish'er but that will work for a family of 5. Fly to Nassau and leave from there.
