I can’t afford an original, so I’m going to build one. LOL. No seriously! I have been reearching for sometime. I have full scale drawings and CAD models for a body buck and working on the chassis details now. My biggest hang up is finding an original Colombo 3.0L v-12. This is going to be my retirement gift to myself, but i figuredifIm going trough all this work and investment, I may build 1-2 more at the same time if I find serious clients.
I’ve been in the automotive business (body and coach) for 36 years and owner of the shop I frequent. (On a daily basis)
I will be starting this year, so I will post progress photos as I go.
I figure if Rod Temparo can build them, so can I!

Greg, I have a 250 GTE engine block. It's a short block, but could be a start if you're looking 3.0L Colombo. Anyway, your build sounds great.

Great project! Subscribed to the thread.
I remember there was a replica for sale that had one of the back up bodies made for the original 250’s by Ferrari. Maybe there are a few still around

More CAD design and printing done... have some materials ordered to start building the body form... won’t be long before the journey begins

    Good for you.

As a metal shaper myself I'd love to do the same. I just wouldn't put any Ferrari badges on it.

I mean this in a very very light hearted fashion...

Its good that you are the owner of a shop that you frequent... or that you frequent the shop that you own... lol

definitely do NOT put ferrari badges on it... you will regret that heavily from critics... but more importantly ferraris lawyers

Lyle Tanner has a complete rebuilt engine for sale. Not cheap, but they are like gold. Google his name.

    Ed,
Lyle's eBay Store has a notice saying that they are closed due to a family emergency.
I don't know anything beyond that.
