I believe that Lecoq changed hands several years ago, not the same as in the old days. Marcel may have mentioned this.

Lecoq was very good, afther his dead, the company comes more different, and biggest than before. I suppose today they need time for having the same "reconnaissance" than before.

As I read in the Artcurial catalogue, the car was stolen during 14 years, back to Italy for a complete reform engine new block, new stamped and also many problems on body.
Today the owner (París, but you don t k ow this city... Sic) was an admirator of cars in Grigio ferro. The 512 TR for sale was in his collection.

The question is, what to do with such a car... Interesting to bring it back to original specs.

I read the catalog description and thumbed through those photos and didn't scrutinize it too closely. After seeing the shots reproduced here by @amenasce I thought I could see hints of the flowing lines of the E-type in profile. Nothing against the E-type but he's right- there definitely looks to be something- or things- off about this recreated body.

If bought for $1m, owner has margin to make it right and still be within market. Seems like Lussos are back above $1.6m..

It works a different way in France, nearly all the cars are hammered sold BUT if they are not reaching the "reserve" price set by the seller ( in accordance with Auction party), the car will not be sold. In fact the car appears now sold at 977 440 € fees included on Artcurial web site in what we call "after-sales" auction....

It is a different style than that in other venues. I found it a bid confusing as well but they do cite the paddle number when the lot is closed. That was my indication of whether it was a Sale or No Sale.

Yes, and when it was purchased, it was red...
Has since had a bare metal restoration to original colors, new interior, total engine and suspension rebuild, wheels refurbed, new exhaust etc...
Don’t know how much that all cost, but can be added to the hit.

Lusso: The engine number has somewhat "fallen off".... I checked the car personally.
I did not like it. It needs everything and should be sent straight to Classiche in Maranello.
    Just my 2 cents.

How much do you think a total resto costs? $500k? More?

    At least, if not more.
Car needs original engine back, this car has had a rough life.
Originally Azzurro 19278 M Italver with Nero VM 8500.
But I would never want this Lusso, it's been stolen March 1976 and re-appeared 14 years later in bits and pieces with various components missing. Body was newly done by Giordanengo. Current engine unstamped.
I checked it carefully in Paris.
