State DMV’s make registration data available to manufacturers along with many other purveyors of data. Consider for a moment all the mail you get from auto dealers referencing cars you own or formerly owned. Where do you think that data comes from? Some states make it illegal for dealers to market using DMV registration data, but like many other laws, enforcement is haphazard.

Doubt State DMV's give owners names, ownership changes, etc. to third parties.

I get mail from dealers for cars that I've sold years ago and no longer have. They use their own sales/servicing lists to communicate with clients.

The car in original posting is back on the market. Saw it on dupont registry instagram feed and it's back on the same website for sale.

Have there been any confirmed secondary market transactions? If there is a premium it will be there in first months.

Keep in mind, the posted car is a launch spec, which dealers were keen to order first as it's the easiest to sell in the open market.

There could be more than one car in the works, hence why the listing doesn't get removed. Nothing unique, no VIN/etc that would require it to be amended. Just a thought.

Got it. Understood. Seems to be a very polarizing vehicle. I agree with you that it wont be in short supply but that hasn't stopped the secondary market from speculating. thx

I have no evidence of secondary market transactions other than im getting alot of calls from brokers asking if i want one. If i had one ferrari i might have taken a pista. But car number 23 or 24 needs to be something more special to make onto my insurance policy

As far as spec im doing any and all future cars in same spec as my tdf. Argento with black alcantara and Italian flag stripe down the seats and glove box

Have a look also on the 599 GTO market nowadays, it was quite impossible to get one and to buy a low milleage one few years ago, it will be the same for F12 TDF soon!

It was told to me by two separate people who don't know each other and at different dealers:

Seems that one can't have a coupe and aperta. It has to be one or the other.

People who were offered the aperta had to relinquish the coupe. Therefore, it opened up to more buyers which could be affecting resale market.

This is true, but not for every single case. The "TOP" rated clients who are above the "VIP" ranking clients are allowed to have both coupe and spider.

Well, as you see the first ones on the free market by now, every car will be available … for the right money …

If you want two, its a matter of waiting … and paying … then you can have a coupe and an Aperta …. but why would you …. :)
