There is an orange '72 on BAT right now. Same color as a beat up Datsus 210 I had in high school-this one looks a little better

Just saw a '70 on there also that needs a ton of work. Looks like somebody spray painted it at one point-ouch

I have seen a few fairly nice cars but holding out for the right car I would love to find that perfect low mileage car or a restored 1970... ran across one of the first 100 once a few years ago in nice restored condition was not really thinking about one at the time but.. .. .. should have bought that one....

Good to see these old Datsun gems are coming back around. Took longer than I thought.

Always loved the Z cars. My dream was always the Z32 Twin Turbo. Took 28 years but just bought one last week. 91k miles, need to put OEM rims on it and I'll be in heaven.

All this reminded me of a one owner 1970(?) 240Z I was asked to do a complete restoration on in around 1999-2000.
The (still original) owner drove it from Newport Beach to Riverside to show it to me and after couple of hours of detailed discussions, including my clear assessments of such commission probably costing several times what the best example in the world could be bought for, his determination or willingness to spend whatever money it would take didn’t seem to waiver.
Unfortunately, at that time I ended up encountering some other life altering challenges and had to put everything, including my business on hold for awhile.
2-3 years later when I was ready to take on new projects and contacted him, he had found someone else.
I could swear I heard disappointment/regret about that choice in his voice and offered to take over if needed, but never heard from him again. Would’ve been different and interesting project.
    Good luck with your search.

I understand. I love the 2005 Nissan R34 Z-tune (built in 2005 using 1999-2002 chassis that were already used cars and repurchased by Nismo). They sell for over $500k now...not worth it imo at least for that. But there are only a handful in the world.

$175k est for that is crazy. Hopefully the collector car market crashes in 3 years. I'm on the sidelines now with cash waiting to buy a NAS Defender 110 and 1969 Fairlady Z.

Sold for $89,600 (est 125-175k). Seems more realistic, but still pretty dang high to me.

I had an early '70 Silver 240Z in collage. Bought it in Hawaii for $400 when I lived there and shipped it to California. Got damaged in shipment. Sold it for $350 to someone that wanted to race it. Wish I had kept it as the $350 was nothing but I had no room to store it.

These aren't for sale, but.... One is bone stock, with the original owner. The other is a vintage racer. The vintage race car was beyond hope, lots of rust, but Greg at Ignite Performance brought it back from the dead. They do really nice work.

now they look nice... I have thought about just buying a decent car and do a restoration but I suspect I would be into it for 80k or so ..... parts are probably cheap.....I wonder would it would cost to restore a decent rust free running car...
