Maybe if it is not to much trouble, can you show your detailed invoice here once the job is complete, [remove any private info of course] just interested to see what they actually do as a "major" service and how they calculate it.

    Many Thanks

Happy to provide a copy of the invoice once the work is done, but in the mean time, here's the quote.

Just to add to the feedback I have used Tim (and on occasion Carl) for many years and cannot fault either of the work they perform. You may find it a bit easier to get into Tim's as he has a few mechanics working for him but both do exceptional work. If you need anything wheel/tyre related, Carl's your guy.

Thanks for that, these are mine and mine only opinion....

He has quoted "workshop supplies" twice, for a rag?

He has quoted you for 9L of engine oil, yet with a oil change/filter it is 11L capacity, price is insane all the same supply your own oil, top oil is but $10/L [Snr. chemist @ Shell told me change your oil more often, more important than the type/brand]

Have to say most of the parts are double what you can buy yourself at a retail level.

Even a weekend mechanic with min. skill could do all that pretty much, [excl. the cam belt job]

After taking out the seats, panels etc, i would not be inspecting belts/pulley, gone too far, just change them.

Main thing is no oil leaks :)

I just paid $200 to service my i3. Who the hell would want a Ferrari with those sorts of costs.

My i3 looks better and goes faster too.

OK, just to finish up with my major service and belt change carried out by Paul Placzek, the final price was pretty much exactly what was quoted (previously uploaded) - $4,300. There was an additional $38.50 for a new sump plug and he only charged the one "workshop supplies" as he had accidentally included 2 of these in the quote, as pointed out by Nintendo64.

Unfortunately, on the day I took it to him, I was parked in Melbourne beforehand and someone hit the side of my car, cracking the rear bumper, and nicked off of course :(. Paul arranged to have it repaired and a total respray for $660 - very cheap I thought. Good as new now :) Just shows how careful you have to be with where you park your F-Car. I was in a fairly narrow side street, but had parked opposite a driveway to give more clearance, obviously not enough for the moron who hit me....
