Agree, but unfortunately a lot of the world money is in the USA and Swiss: this explains why this happens. But it's not necessary to go through them to buy a car, as there are several Italian first class car operators that can find you what you want. Original first registration Modena black plate with orange MO lettering is No. 1 and the top. Here you have to pay a premium to have a car with that plate. Italian plates. IT s exactly what I like! I put it in the Month Olympe. Concerning the rest, I will change some rules....it will be funny or not.
Thanks, but I already have a picture of the warranty book of that car: the VIN you wrote is correct, but the date you wrote is not correct, as warranty starts in a different date Marcel, you are a great expert (who says no), but you aren't the only one in the world and you never stop learning about those cars. ciao
Disagree. Warranty start date has zero to do with date of first registration. Do not compare apples with oranges. The Italian road registration dox for 56645 clearly state 12/06/1985 which translates into 12 June 1985. These dox ALSO state that the car (56645) was registered as a 308 GTBi (instead of a 288 GTO) and you and I both know WHY this was done! Saving taxes…….. One month after the original registration, on 12 July 1985, I saw 56645 at the Assistenza Clienti at Viale Trento Trieste in Modena and on that date the odometer was showing 4'600 kms already. Have fun. Marcel Massini
Marcel the car plate number (number were progressive, here and at those times, so you can know the date of registration just from the plate number, I don't know if you know this and how to relate numbers with dates). So evidences are: the registration plate (an Italian Motor Department official act) and the warranty book (that is a Ferrari official document) show a different month (not just day). And 4600 km in a month look too much! This is not a battle about who has the longest "nose", it's just sharing info: why do you always want to say "I know everything, you nothing?" Come on, Marcel: take it easy, we are just talking about cars: maybe sometimes you can add some info to your great database, why not? Have a nice afternoon and relax: I'm a Ferrari enthusiast like you (and Sackey) are. Ciao
Tell us something new. I know a good Ferrari Specialist in the UK & Germany also, for those of you with problems with American & Swiss people. Thank you Marcel. Sure. Thanks for sharing that detailed insight Marcel. Where has Marcel said he knows everything and you nothing? Meanwhile, if your information is incorrect, it won't be the first time you've come on here and asserted erroneous information. Sounds like you are the one who ought to relax.
Here's Albertos' favourite 288 GTO #56645 on the 14th June 1987 at Pierre Bardinon's racetrack Mas du Clos near Aubusson in France. Note the yellow sticker on the windscreen "FCV" of the Ferrari Club Valenza (Alessandria), club founded by Alberto Ascari enthusiast Sergio Cassano. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fantastic Picture, Marcel. I always appreciate what you post that deserves it. While I didn't understand at all which taxes would have saved "These dox ALSO state that the car (56645) was registered as a 308 GTBi (instead of a 288 GTO) and you and I both know WHY this was done! Saving taxes…….." Which ones? The taxes at those times were not power related (in Italy) but were displacement related, so the 288 GTO paid the same (or a bit less) than the 308 GTB as the GTO displacement (2855 cm3) was less than the 308 GTBi (2926 cm3). Which taxes, Marcel? I repeat: You give a great contribution to the forum, I appreciate it a lot. Ciao
There is no problem with anyone, nor Swiss nor American, of course. Nor with Sackey nor with Massini. Two guys with a lot of knowledge and professionality. But I would like that (you both) would think (every time) that we cannot always just read what you wrote and say "wow, great, fantastic": we (I mean who isn't an honorary member nor a sponsor and simply pays to have a silver or Rossa subscription) sometimes can add something new and useful. Can happen. Maybe sometimes Is wrong, but not always. We are all enthusiasts, please don't forget about this. Ciao
Christian, please take your Nationalistic views somewhere else, this is a 288 GTO appreciation thread, and the cars, not the countries which in your opinion should have a right to sell them should be the focus. If you have specific images, illustrations or historical data about the 288 GTO, they are welcome here without the politics. Fair comments. It's a two-way street though, I think it would be simpler to just post whatever new and interesting material without taking rebuttal personally, I think this thread has worked well as an appreciation & resource thread for over ten years, and long may that continue.
Everybody's notice the letter size in your post refering to Alberto. Everybody's notice your method that you used for Europan sellers. You just lost 10 points and a lot of credibility. Another thing, Alfredo! Go ahead with your book! Go ahead and I m sure that Someone be very surprised.
The only thing that's disgusting is your asserting that these cars should only be sold by Italians and not Americans or Swiss. WTF talks like that in this day & age??? If this thread is boring, allow me to invite you to leave and go where your views might be better appreciated, there is in fact a politics & religion section.
Sure. Rest assured my credibility is well-intact, yours, not-so-much as none of your recent jibberish makes any sense.
