    Mark, great pictures :)
I agree 16 inch rims are a no go...

    Great car, great colour.

Reminds of the time when car manufacturers wen't afraid to have greens and browns (for some reason I immediately think of Lancia Beta Coupes) in the 1970's.

David, you are absolutely right, but.....unfair comparison.
When FIAT 128's where olive green, they looked it.
Now, green germoglio is blatant, very in "your face".
Finger paint a Dino and it would still look fantastic! Even a fully rusted out copy would be great.
This car is over the top for its own sake, no matter what, and possibly only a 911 in their crazy palette of the day, might come close, or a Stratos...

    Regards, Alberto

I agree to disagree :) I just bought a set to use as every day wheels, with the originals for concourse. Running Bridgestone adrenaline Re002 205 55 fronts and 225 50 rear, handling and obviously grip have improved. The ride comfort doesn't seem to have deteriorated and less road noise than the Michelin's

Oh this last picture, dark blue Dino, those 16s look spectacular! I'd certainly use them and keep originals for re-sale time, IF that ever comes! I don't think I will EVER sell my black 308GTB, and certainly would NEVER sell a 246GT if I still had one! Hey, I'm 62 years old and quite happy with my Ferrari now. Only sold my 1971 Euro 246GT for $45K way back when that's all they were going for. There were no 16s then!

I think your picture comparison settles the debate between 16's vs original wheels perfectly. IMO looking at your picture i cannot see how anyone could say the Dino does not look more attractive in it's original form, it may ride better...

I'm not sure why but I agree the car does not look as good with the large wheels.
Maybe if part of the rim were painted black to decrease their apparent size?

The Michelins whilst in good condition are old and hard as nails. The new combination was not that much more expensive than four new Michelins, which lets face it, is a very old tyre design now. Whilst I too prefer the the original 14's , i will continue to use them for concours (multiple winner) and the 16's to go on drives with.

I agree! You can have a lot of fun playing with both sets. Gives two completely different feelings. Both good! Always enjoyed the look of John Corbani's w/ his 16" Gottis. Also, love Blu Scuro (I'm biased!).

In the spirit of easily bolt on, bolt off mods, the Stratos induction creates so much more capability, flexibility and fun with my Dino! I no longer have fuel starvation in hard cornering. Instantaneous throttle response! It makes driving my Dino in the canyons so much fun! I’m interested to hear experiences from anyone who has the 16” Superformance/Cromodora wheels on their Dino and which tire sizes front and rear. Also, is there anyone making 16” versions of the Campy wheels? I don’t want to go bigger than 16”.

If anyone wants these wheels, with good tires, that DinoDan has on his watermelon I will sell them for $400 for the set. I paid DinoDan $1000. Yes, I’m a stupid businessman. I never mounted them.

Only trick is they are in Charleston SC and I’m not shipping. Pick up only!

The trouble with the 16" rims is that they are only 6.5" wide. If they were 7" and 8" or even 7.5", I would buy some for my gt4.

That’s interesting. I thought they were 7”. Can anyone else confirm? What width/offsets were Corbani’s Gottis?

The width of my set is staggered but I don’t know off the top of my head the width.

I will check next time I’m in Charleston.

I contacted Superformance and this is the reply I received:

    Hello

    Thank you for your email

The 16" Cromodora wheels are 8" wide.

If you wanted an extra wheel it would be £245.00.

Unfortunately we do not have any plans for a 16" Campagnolo

    Kind regards,

    Neil Earnshaw

That's odd, when I phoned them and asked last year, they told me 6 1/2".

Mind you I bought a badge from them and the yellow paint peeled off in the sun ...

I’d love to hear from anyone who has a set of these. Were they always 8” wide or is this a recent change?

I finally checked mine and indeed all are 8 inch despite the staggered tire size.

Are they stamped 8x16? Actual measurement for 8” bead to bead should be 9.5x16.
