Bumping this. I've got my eye on a 360, but have to let this girl go first... Willing to negotiate with an FChatter! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Was this car bought in Redondo Beach? If so I’ve driven this car before this owner bought it and it’s a beast. Must sound insane with the mods. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Different car, but you’re correct about the mods. The drive by wire removes the delay in delivering WOT when flooored, minimizes clip slippage, delivers faster shifting, etc. Combined with the cats, the car is transformed from your average GT... Good thing too is you can still turn off the sport mode and go “stealth” to keep the neighbors happy.
Surmised that this car is still around. Compares in almost every way to my 612 at half the price. That's a monster of a car for the price. Someone should snatch it up before the market wakes up to these rare F1 beauty's.
Thanks fellas. Your views echo my own sentiments. I'm still enjoying her as a Friday car. I know when the right buyer comes along she'll go quick. Honestly, I'm not in that big of a rush to sell...I'm deep into 308 work at the moment anyways; pressing out suspension bushings and what not. It'll happen when it happens! I will bump this for you Chad. Seriously, this is great chance to own an interesting footnote in the Maserati story. A GT car from them that snuck Ferrari parts in only to be busted by the Feds.
Ok folks, bumping and updating the price: For my Fchat friends... $40,500 w/ Sport Cats and Drive-by-wire! Refer to the links below to see why having these included really makes this a great deal: http://www.formuladynamics.com/products/granturismo_s_larini_sportcats/granturismo_s_larini_sportcats.php http://www.formuladynamics.com/products/granturismo_s_mcshift_dbwem/granturismo_s_mcshift_dbwem.php
Wow what a great looking and sounding car. You stated the clutch life was ~ 57%. Can you give an estimate on what a replacement would be? A ballpark figure would be great. Thanks
No prob-- did some quick research. Found the best deal for a price of a complete clutch kit here: https://www.scuderiacarparts.com/part/203192/maserati/228738/complete-clutch.html So, 1.5k for that and say another 1.5k-2k for labor at a competent shop w/ an SD to set it up properly? I'm sure dealer pricing would be silly. At any rate, w/50% life you're a ways off for a replacement...
That remaining life may go another 25-40K miles. Fix it when it's needed not now. My 355 is showing 90%ish worn and operates flawlessly.
Quick bump/ update: I was finally able to access and remove the inop passenger seat motor. Fun fact, I checked the part number and it’s the same used on a Porsche 996... Also, replacing the rear brakes (as they were marked as pretty worn during a ppi.) I can say with confidence that this car is completely sorted for the next owner!
Saturday bump. Just a friendly reminder with this backseat pic, you'd be getting a helluva lot for your money (alcantara headliner/ leather/ carbon trim, etc.) at this price point! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Friday Bump! Currently considering a trade towards a certain 360, but prefer a straight sell. Entertaining reasonable offers. In the meantime, I'm just gonna leave this article right here... it's pretty much the best sales pitch for these cars. http://www.motortrend.com/news/study-says-the-sound-of-a-maserati-engine-turns-women-on-2904/
Post Presidents Day bump. Based off the market, I'm also reducing the price to (drum roll....) $37,000! Lots of detailed pics/ vids to share, send me a PM.
Ooof.....that is a lotta car for the money. I've had 612 fever, but at this price it makes this awfully tempting.
wow that's a great buy, as a fellow gran turismo owner I must say I'm not looking forward to the day I sell my car. This is the definition of a buyers market.... There isn't a car in the world you can get for under 40k as special as this one!
You are correct sir. Over the weekend, I was able to work out a trade towards an ‘01 360 spider. Taking delivery later this week! Going to miss this car, but I’m a Tifosi at heart and beyond excited for my 308’s new stablemate!
