1970 Land Rover Series 2A Convertible. I'm helping my 75 year mechanic friend sell this. My friend Peter has been restoring these vintage Land Rovers for 50+ years now in his Venice Beach California Shop. He's restored 2 Landies for me also, so I just love his work.. Anyway, this Landie was just finished this month. He spend about a year on it now. Nut-Bolt Resto, everything done. Original engine and 4-Speed Trans were both rebuilt, Peter also added Disk Brakes all around and Power Steering, and updated the suspension. Peter has a great in-house upholstery guy at his shop, Carlos, who put together a beautiful new vintage looking comfortable interior. All new carpets, sound deadening materials, and canvas convertible top. Great looking truck and everything is brand new.. $48,500... Wow, Peters Marina Motors. Is he still active?? I am from Germany and bought in 1988 a Triumph TR 4 from him. Even at that time a cool shop. Best greetings to him (from Toshens friend) Hans
Its the same engine but rebuilt. The transmission (4-spreed) is also the original but was also rebuilt. One could get the Over Drive Set-up installed to go 65 mph. The top speed as it is is about 50 mph..
The heater-defroster was all rebuilt and is as-new now.. Highway cruising speeds without the over-drive is not possible. With the OD 60-65 mph is fine to do.
My Dutch neighbor just "brought over" his old truck. His pride of ownership (together with a seafaring Naval demeanor) is SO entertaining! He had "lost " it thru divorce and various shenanigans. I had to help him trouble shoot some under hood electrical devices. For the most part he has it back to 100% with the original devices!! Just oxidized connections..GLWS "Don't let the hood drop!".. "yes SIR!"
Make a good offer and come and get it.. All ready to enjoy with no excuses.. Even has a Bluetooth stereo for your music and phone!!
Major price drop... Need to sell.. $38,500 now... Come on, someone come and get this perfect little baby...
Just drove this beautiful "Landie" to lunch and back. What a treat. Complete convertible in the beautiful California sun!!!
i will be looking to buy in late April/early May. Doubt it will still be available. It is beautiful and my commute is perfect for this. My buddy tried to sell me his right hand steering last year and I declined. Another friend bought it and I see it all the time...cringing. This would be sweet justification for waiting. jippiejake, you always have cool connections out in cali.
Hi, These trucks sell slow in this sort of condition so It might be still available.. Mke a crazy offer what you could pay now? My friend Peter is trying to retire soon.. Thanks for your interest.. PM anytime.. Best, Mike
