Yesterdays email from Talacrest announced they were offering the following

    #0081S - http://talacrest.com/Ferrari-Sales/195-Inter-Coupe/13029.htm - fresh from RMs Maranello sale
    #1503GT - http://talacrest.com/Ferrari-Sales/250-GT-LWB-California-Spyder/13030.htm - offered for the first time in 20 years
#5377 - http://talacrest.com/Ferrari-Sales/Chris-Evans-Ferrari-250-Lusso/4689.htm - ex Chris Evans white car collection

On other news it should be noted that they are no longer advertising the GTO they were offering AND its not listed on any of the sold pages. In non Ferrari news Kidston are offering one of approx 10 Ford GT40 Mark II (#1016) and a works team Aston DB3S (#2).

    Cheers

Podium finish in the iconic 1-2-3 finish of '66 would push it a bit higher I assume. $15 million sounds right but could go closer to $20 million. $25 million for the second place car and $35 million for the winner I'd guess.

I like 0081S, but the market doesn't seem too enthusiastic about it. I guess it's a small pool of potential buyers...

The winner (1046) sold in 2010 for $10 million and is today valued at $25 million, thats why I come back to $15 mil. for this example since a Le Mans win should be a $10 million value factor. Important car to us Kiwi's since McLaren and Amon took that first win, scuppering Fords attempt to have American drivers in an American car take the win.

You know what, you're right. I was thinking a "regular" GT40 was worth $5 mil - $7 mil right now but looks like they can be had it the $3 mil - $5 mil range pretty safely. $10 mil - $15 mil sounds about right for this car.

2016 saw RM sell the 1956 Le Mans winning D-Type Jag for $20 million when a usual short nose D-Type would be a $10 million proposition so while its a sample of one, I would say $10 million is the value you could add for that. As to the Mark II, there have been zero public sales since the 1990s so who knows but $15 million for a mid pack example seems right. I note its still not advertised on their website.......

Very good example, I was about 10 feet from that car when it sold. It would probably be easier to compare down from 1046. At $25 mil - $30 mil right now, a third place finisher should be about half the price, so $12.5 mil - $15 mil. That compared to the equivalent Mk II with no notable history at about $5 mil - $7 mil and Mk I's at $3 mil - $5 mil.

Back to the Ferrari's though, any word on the Talacrest 250 GTO? I realized its already been a year since it was first announced! Hope its found a new home but its a shame something couldn't be worked out before the GTO tour.

The closest comparison was the sale of a Gulf Mirage at RM Monterey in '11 for around the $11 million mark although that was only a good rather than great car. Allowing for the market change AND the better car, maybe $40 - 50 million. Cross referencing that, #1046 is valued at $25 million and shares many values except for one important one extremely important one, #1075 is a Gulf racer AND that is one of the top 2 or 3 most iconic liveries ever and whether it be a GT40 or Porsche 917, an original Gulf car is worth much more than a non Gulf example.
