their DPi budget is about to explode, and I'm sure they get X amount to spend each year on motorsports programs, so adios PWC.

a shame, I wish the had adopted GT3 as their primary platform, better global competition in GT3 and more relevance to the road cars. plus the ATS-V GT3 cars looked badass :)

Could this imply they are going to be a FACTORY DPi team? I mean, their customer teams are doing quite well so I am not sure why they need to focus more resources there, unless Joest and Penske's involvement will tip the scales out of their favor?

they already are a factory team ;););)

WTR and AX are very heavily subsidized/supported by Cadillac.

No I mean like a pure factory team. I.e. Team Cadillac. No WTR or AX branding.

Wow! Did not see this one coming. So let's throw some far out speculation at this. Could this mid engine car which no one knows for sure if its a vette or a caddy have anything at all to do with this?

Never quite understood the logic, but GM never made their GT3 Caddy available to customer teams and prohibited European Corvette customer teams from racing in the US. Now that the factory WC GT3 program is closing, there may be a possibility for customer Corvette C7 racing in the US next year. Stay tuned...

I'd love to see a GTD Corvette in IMSA.

I think this was the last time a private ex factory Corvette ran in a IMSA GT class? I took this at Sebring in 2002.
