    Good job Rahal.

That said, a boring race . . . both days.

I don't mind Cheever and Goodyear. They do their best given what they have to work with. That being a track where overtaking is very difficult and fuel strategy is usually more important than race pace.

I think Jan Beekuis is the best pit reporter in the business.

With 8 races down, 7 different drivers have won, speaks to the strength of the series. That being said, "Mr. Consistent" Scott Dixon still may pull out the title, perhaps without a win, for his 5th Indycar championship.

Fingernails on a chalkboard are better than Diffey.

We Amerikuns have had a tough way to go with regard to racing announcers over the years
and the networks wonder why racing's ratings barely register a blip on the radar.

Going back to the days when Chris Economaki was screeching at the top of his lungs like a carnival
barker about the least little thing happening on the track. Sam Posey and Bobby Unser practically
coming to blows in the booth as they tried to one-up each other race after race. The oblivious Paul
Page who would constantly mis-name drivers (even though he knew them all personally) and/or
would intentionally "Americanize" foreign driver's names, watching the races on TV monitors while
he loaded his plate in media hospitality rooms, etc. etc.

All this while good announcers like Townsend Bell and Danny Sullivan are pushed to the side in
favor of the new bickering duo of Goodyear and Cheever. And, this Bestwick guy, wasn't he a
    NASCAR guy for like ever?

Great back to back wins for the H.P.D. powered cars, and for the NSX GT3's win also at Belle Island.

I've always wondered about that too.

Does having a British accent (faux or otherwise) bring a motorsport commentator credibility?
Why is that exactly? One may want to ask Peter Windsor about that.

Absolutely, Varsha was at least a reasonable voice who did his homework, gave his
co-commentators plenty of space and he did a great job especially compared to previously
    mentioned lead commentators.

Yes, recall Economacky's brief stint doing F-1 for ESPN. Not sure how or why he ended
up with the gig. But, at the Hungarian Grand Prix one year, the race was an all but foregone
conclusion and the leader was backing off cruising to the finish line. Economacky went
nuts, screaming that the second place car was closing in (perhaps to bring some false
drama to the broadcast) and it would be a fight to the line.

Of course, nothing could have been further from the truth. When they start these false
narratives, as Diffey constantly does, it only serves to take credibility away from the races
themselves and makes the commentators look like buffoons.
