    Hi Sam,

    Will these also work on a '74 Boxer and a '74 400GT

    Cheers

    Good day Scott,

The early 365 Boxers' fuse blocks were quite different than the 512 and 308 series:

    a. they had 10 fused circuits (per block) compared to 9 in the 512 Boxers/308 series
    b. the covers had a central retaining bolt like the Daytona as opposed to the friction fit cover in the 512 Boxer/308 series.

That being said, some 365 Boxers did use the 512 Boxer/308 series blocks, but these were on the later production cars. Take a look at your blocks and see if they look similar to the pics posted within this thread. If they do look the same, then my blocks will certainly work.

As for your '74 400GT... Are you certain about the year? 1974 seems to be a bit too early for the 400GT? No matter... the 400GT and 365 GT4 2+2 uses yet another style of fuse block. This block has the wire connectors exiting out the bottom of the block and has 10 fused circuits per block... Thus my 512 Boxer/308 series block design would not work. However, I do have a design for a block replacement for the 365 Gt4 2+2/400 that I have been slowly working on. Hopefully sometime next year it will be done. If so I will post up a thread on it in 365/400 section.

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Thanks Sam,
My 365 Boxer does indeed have 10 fuses per block. Thanks anyway,

    Cheers

I always respond to e-mails and so if you have not heard back then you can try and contact me here. Sometimes the issue is because your fchat e-mail has changed from the time you have joined and thus my e-mail response goes to la-la land.

    Cheers,

    Good day All,

Just an update to let everyone know that I will no longer be making any more fuse blocks once my parts inventory runs out. Currently, I have enough parts to make a few more sets. If anyone is interested you can contact me via e-mail or PM.

    Cheers,

    Sam

If you are on the fence about this upgrade I strongly encourage you to go for it. It's an elegant solution to old problems.

    Good day All,

This is just an update that I have no more fuse blocks available and will not be making any more in the foreseeable future. I have responded to those people who recently contacted me and have allocated what I have to them. Should any of these people decide not to move forward then that person's fuseblock allocation will be available to others on a first come first serve basis.

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Good day Antonino,

Indeed, I am out of stock on my blocks and most likely I will not be making any more for quite a while. I was hoping to have a bit more free time this season, but alas, this is not the case. At this point I would say that possibly next season I would have blocks, but I will not know for sure until early 2019.

    My apologies!

    Cheers,

    Sam

I see that Sam is not making these anymore? I wish he would reconsider. His blocks are a work of art. Or perhaps he could relaese drawings of how to make them ourselves if we have access to the correct machinist?

    Thank you for your kudos!

Manufacturing the blocks is actually a lot of effort:

    a. Time/Effort Ordering a number of parts and raw materials (some in large quantities and so several $1000 in upfront costs). e.g. The base material only comes in 4'x8' sheets and so these have to trucked (LTL) in and then imported.
    b. Cutting down of the base material in sizeable chunks for the CNC process then delivery to the CNC shop
    c. Ordering and importing printed circuit boards (PCBs)
    d. Assembly of the PCBs
    e. Manufacturing of the cover retention pins and then pressing them into the blocks
    f. Final assembly and packaging
    g. Time/effort with e-mails, billing, and delivering the shipment(s) to the post office, etc

Given the above and that I have been charging $330 (+ shipping) for a set one can see that I am not really making any profit on these... and thus it is a challenge for me to make these in limited quantities at a reasonable price.

As for releasing my design... There are a number of steps, details, and mixed technologies (CNC, PCB, Selective Wave, etc) that would make it a challenge for a DIY'er to replicate my blocks. Secondly, there is a risk to me and my reputation should someone or some firm use my design and manufacture "my" blocks to a standard that is lower what I have offered. Consequently, I have decided to keep my design closed. I hope you understand.

    Cheers,

    Sam
