Well look who decided to poke his head out of the groundhog hole.

    Long time no see Kev.

I like how the 512TR wheels look on your ride. Now you just need to lower it. ;)

Ga68 posted this link in the 348 market thread but I thought it'd get more views here. Some very nice 348 photography here: Ferrari 348 TS

Some pics were good. I'm really not into this overfiltered look though many photographers do these days.

Thanks Ernie - car was put away for a long time after the oil pump chain tensioner failed - turned out it was actually the static guide that broke which then caused the chain to bind on the tensioner. The pad on the actual tensioner was intact and in decent shape wear-wise.

I would like to have all four corners adjusted but just haven't had time yet - I think the photo makes the fender gaps look bigger than they are but it could definitely use some tweaking!

    Cheers
    Kev

Man that sucks. Hope no engine damage? Other than the chain guide that is.

i slightly prefer the 18" 360 Starfish over the 19" Asanti modulars. Personal preference here, both both seem to give the car a more updated look over the stock wheels.

I definitely think the 360 wheels suit the car better. They just look like they belong and could have came from the factory like that.

To me stock wheels go at the end of the list or really just sent to the scrapyard. Just my opinion but I can't stand them. When I got my 348 home I had the wheels switched to 360 modulers in 10 minutes and GAVE AWAY the stock wheels.

I've had the stock wheels on it for the past twelve years. Picked up these two sets to shake it up.

I think my brain unconsciously recognizes 360 wheels as "Ferrari" and make me think exactly what you said. Makes me wonder if the everyday stooge (as opposed to me, a Ferrari stooge) would think the same.

    360 > Asanti > Stock

Do the rear tires on the Asanti wheels have the same OD as on the 360s? Looks a little short on meat, hence the increased wheel well gap (?).

Good eye! I picked up the Asantis here on FChat. They have the old rubber which came on them which is incorrectly sized for the 348. I wanted to have a look with them on the car to decide if I liked them enough before making any investment in tires. I also picked up the 360 rims here on FChat and already put on fresh PZeros all round. Half temped to put Michelin Pilot Super sports on the Asanti's in the correct sizes just to half way compare PSS/PZeros but its hard to justify spending more $tires$ on the extra- extra set of rims! Heres the differences your eye detected for the rears:

    Stock Rears: 255/45 -17 Diameter 661.3mm
    360 Rear Rims: 285/35 x 18 : Diameter 656.7mm (-4.6mm Dia, -2.3mm Ride height from Stock rears)
    Asanti's Rears: 275/30 x 19: Diameter 647.6mm (-13.7mm Dia, -6.8mm Ride height from Stock)
(I'm thinking the Asantis with 295/30 x 19 / Diameter 659.6mm would match stock dia pretty close and their offset is a little more favorable to prevent childish tire syndrome)

^^^This. Funny, but I used to hate the OE wheel design but now 348s look odd to me with all but a few replacement wheels.

Took this one today...safe to say this is the only 348 that is parked next to an Icon 4x4 D200....probably because there is only one Icon D200 in the world.

Got a call from my storage guy this week. He had a client who really needed to get his car out. Unfortunately, my car was blocking the way along with an old Z28. Typically nothing moves out of this place until the snow is long gone. However, the client was back from down South and his wife really wanted her Hyundai :). Today we pushed my car out a few feet past the door so we could juggle things around. I'm glad I didn't have to start it. One advantage of no power steering. It makes no difference if the car is running or not when you're in Flintstone mode.
