MADNESS ! Yesterday .... no 458 starting possible ... 2 chargers installed an this morning: no start, eng failure, powersteering failure .... Got myself a 74 amps battery which cost me Euro 98 incl VAT at the local DIY car store ... Installed it, waited 5 mins .... the screens suddenly popped up and ..... all problems vanished ! 2 x half an hour work .... and lots of fun doing it all yourself ! But: timestamp on this OEM F battery was 2014 .... that means that the first battery of 2012 was already exchanged after first three years And now, after again almost 3 years the third battery is needed ... And at what a cost every time .... I decided to exchange this battery myself an bought it at a well-known shop. Exact measurements were checked and it was perfect. Exchanged the oem sticker also Experts will see that it has no red top but others may not notice that ..... Nice thing for friend Carlo: this battery has 4 Amps more but weighs 6 kilos less ! And ... The 3 top foto's show the clamp for the connection box. Watch carefully when UNDOING the old battery ! Screw the PLUS clamp on again (10mm nut) ... Click the cover back on. Carefully move in the battery; it should go very smooth ... otherwise tak it out again and look for obstacles. Install upper bar above the battery. Install the two clamps in front. (Model 2012 onwards) ... REDY ! Click on the MINUS polecable/cablepole ... lots of sounds and noises will now get out of all places. DO NOTHING ! Wait now 5 minutes ...a nd after the 2 screens suddenly start just wait one minute more. Then .... everything works again ! Only set the clock ! GOOD LUCK ! Wooow ... FOB/carkey did not work .... Took fob to the front windshield and suddenly th LOCK did work ... but not the UNLOCK anymore .... Pushing the FOB button did not work and the car was now locked .... Opened the driversside door ............ lots of lamps flashing .... and open ! Then the fob was alright and working ..... solved again ! Have a good weekend

Ha ha .... Winterjob done: replacing the oem wipers We all know that the dealer wants to replace your wipers at all maitenance ... of course. The install "oem" wipers and it is hard to find out what brand they are. Cost about € 150 ! Found the exact same wipers for € 75 so 50% off ! I share the data here. Do you find them also in your coutry ? Another Winter job done: and removing the F DataRace / SmartyCam V.01 system which provides poor data (only 756). Unique .... never seen it anywhere ... it looks impressive and the oem CF looks great ! But not HD at all ... pitty ! Was installed at first deliverance for around € 5000 Luckily the unused leather part was there, covered in Schedoni foils ... But how to remove it all and get it in ? Had to take off the three engine covers to get to the three screws ... Just needs some relining now and then ... normal panel is in ! This unique oem 458 SmartyCam system is still working as delivered, is for sale (incl CF panel) or can be exchanged/swapped for a new GoPro Hero Black ...
