Have 2016 Cali T is Rossa Corsa with Nero interior.

Been thinking of getting the roof wrapped in black. Anyone done this and have any opinions?

Can it be wrapped in glossy vinyl or only matte finish?

As usual, since these exterior appearance choices have already been done quite a bit and people do like them, they are just a matter of personal taste. I would just say, you should do it for yourself, not because someone else suggests or for resale reasons.

I personally think they look great. FWIW, my white car also works well with black roofs so my plan is to do a roof wrap down the road when I feel it's time to freshen it up. I generally keep my cars for many years. AFAIK, the wraps come in glossy or matte but glossy is perhaps a safer choice unless you feel strongly about it or if you've personally seen a car with the exact combination you are looking to do.

One thing I would suggest, aside from warranty questions, is to ask the installers how long the wrap lasts, how difficult it might be to remove the wrap and whether some wraps are less likely to damage the paintjob when removed.

Remember to post some BEFORE/AFTER photos of it should you decide to proceed. ;)

There's a red Cali around here that I've seen that's has a black roof, and I think it looks great.

Sorry, should have been more clear.

I really like the look of the black roof. I'm looking for opinions or experiences of anyone who's gotten their roof wrapped.

Looks good, but would be even better if the A pillars were also black.

Since you already have black wheels, black tail pipes, black spoiler, black gills and black door handles, IMO yellow A pillars actually clash with the rest when the roof is up, defeating the purpose of having a black roof.

You may as well also wrap the side mirrors in black.

I can't I hate it with the top down - just the black a pillar and the rest yellow? I actually have a set of a pillars in black, didn't like them so I took them off. I also have black mirrors and took them off. Happy as it is.

My main beef is that retaining the yellow A pillars makes the black metal retractable portion resemble a ragtop as those are usually made of black fabric so in roof-up position your car no longer looks like a coupe, which is not a good thing for a Cali.

Well, it is a matter of personal taste after all. ;)

Agreed and that is exactly why I like it. Kind of looks like a rag top.

    drooling on the NSX....

Mine is two tone too. I guess it depends on what the other color is. It looks great on those with huge contrast. Not sure if it's on shades of gray.
