Me too! But I am looking for a Sub 1k mile car. I thought I was the only one!

I think what you are actually looking for is a 1998.

As a side note the car is also referenced as a GT2. Not sure why the GTS-R and/or GT2 moniker... but who cares as everyone knows what car you/we are referencing

Are these cars 8 cylinders? I know the Le Mans cars were and not the standard 10 cylinder engines in the road cars

All Vipers, including those officially campaigned in various racing series, were V10s.

They always raced as a 10 cylinder car. A few drag guys put v8s in for some weird reason

Because the car was the racing model of the GTS and raced in the GT2 class.

What sort of price would a 1998 GTS-R bring in these days, assuming low mileage under 10k?

I have 2 gen 2 viper acr, and follow the trends... the 1998 GTS-R is the top of the heep, numero uno of the Vipers. Their prices for a low mileage less than 5k could be around 90 to 100k, for a almost wrapper, over 100k... for a higher mileage maybe around 75 to 85k.

With the end of production, vipers are increasing slowly, there is a lot of interest in the 2017 Vipers, but for price increases stick with the gen 2. Prices have receded a little bit since peaking in summer... but should continue to increase going forward. Finding a low mileage, 100% stock gen 2 is getting slightly more difficult.

I am surprised however that Gen 2 vipers aren't worth more, as iconic as they are, a man's man car, brutal, unforgiving, uncompromising, ballistic missile like the original Shelby Cobra, imo a nice low miler should be worth more, as a Viper fan, hand built american muscle-exotic, almost bullet-proof Lamborghini-Chrysler designed V-10 motor, with 6spd transmission... all of the checkmarks are ticked for a classic for all time. Maybe I'm crazy.

This 17k mile car has been for sale on ebay for $75k for like a year now. I think your estimates are a little on the higher side.

No problem, 17k is actually a lot of miles for a 98 Viper GTS-R... it's crazy right, but Vipers are not comfortable daily drivers... I have 2000 and 2002 ACR and the F355 GTB, and the 2 could not be absolutely different... the 355 is sublime and smooth... the Viper is rough and tumble, stiff and brutal on anything but smooth roads, hot in the cabin after 15 minutes... burn your legs on the sides... it's not a car for pansies. LOL.

I agree the mods and miles affect the price on the Tomball car greatly. That's why its still for sale. Same as high mileage modded Ferrari.
