Sometimes referred to as the Holy Grail of Ferrari 308 and 328 accessories, this is an extremely rare and perfect Saratoga top. Approximately 100 of these high-quality Lexan tops were made for the Ferrari 308 and 328. They are so cherished that years go by without one being offered for sale. When one does show up on the market, it may be scratched or damaged.

If you have been waiting for a pristine example of a Saratoga top, now is your opportunity to get one that is flawless in every way. As you will be able to see from the photographs, this top is perfectly preserved. The seals are supple, the frame is solid, the Lexan is beautiful, and the interior padding is excellent.

It is difficult to decide on a fair asking price as comparable Saratoga tops sales are at least two years old, and most examples were damaged in some way. Asking prices were as high as $10,000, and confirmed sales of $7,000.00. The overall 308 and 328 market has changed dramatically as well, so here is what I am going to do:

I'll sell for the highest offer received over $6,000.00. If you don't want to wait or make an offer, I will immediately sell for $9,250.00. The really nice storage bag shown in the SmugMug link below and shipping to any US address will be included, so free shipping. I'll ship internationally if the buyer pays the extra cost.

    Thanks for looking. Jeff

I had a fight with myself a year ago for one lightly used at 5k, couple scratches. In the end I've lived with regret. I'm watching

Interested where this trades, bought one 18 months ago and love the visibility, let alone the extra headroom (I'm 6'4" which is why I bought it in the first place). If you're 6'+, a must have....

Why not put it on eBay for starting bid of $6000 and buy it now of $9250 - sounds like the perfect venue for that?

I much prefer keeping Ferrari parts, both sales and purchases, in the FChat family. There are only so many good parts and spares to go around, and everybody here I've dealt with, both buying and selling, has been top notch.

Yes, sometimes it's not the price, it's the availability.

I can tell you that since I bought mine three years ago, I have never used the original top again. It may seem too simple, but in fact it makes the car much nicer with the top on, with more light and more room.
Every serious Ferraristi should have one...(and I have no interest in the sale...)

If you would like to make an offer on the Saratoga top, please let me know by next Wednesday, September 7.

You can send a p.m. through FChat, post it on the listing, or send a text or phone call to me at 1-540-241-4953.

If two final high bids are the same, I'll go with the first one received.

As mentioned above, I will pay for careful packaging and shipping to any US location. I happened to think about insurance for shipping, and I'll cover the costs of that as well, as this is too valuable to send without it. If this goes to an international address, I'll cover the first $100 of shipping and insurance, if the buyer will cover the balance.

If you have any questions, need more information or photos, just let me know!

    Thanks, Jeff

Looks great, Now that I see it fitted IMHO seems to suit a 308 with the black painted A and B pillar the best. Don't get me wrong I would happily take it on my 328, just looks more factory correct with that 308 model.

How old is the sunroof top again?

Mark, I don't know exactly when these were made. Jim, I-velocita, knows more than anybody about these I think. He said that this is a later one since it has the padded frame, and I assume by the serial number. Since only 100 were made, it probably wasn't a span of years- wouldn't you guess early to mid 1980's?

I'll attach another photo to show how the padding looks near the sunvisors/ windshield header.
