Gerald - I personally vote you to the BBC Board of Directors. I think that analysis is absolutely 100% spot on, each and every point you make.

 

Agreed. I have to say, I love the old cast, and resisted watching the new show. I don't think Evans was horrible per se, but he was "reading someone else's part".

If the show were Reid, Harris, and LeBlanc, it would be fine. Get rid of the Stig and put Schmitz as the "team driver". It's different, and it shows that they've cut the cord and moved on.

I do think the American version has improved quite a bit, but for me, the Clarkson/Hammond/May combo can't be beat.

I totally agree with your analysis. BBC had the opportunity to make a new car show, instead they did a copy. Nobody likes dubbed series and movies.

350 million viewer -- that's a lot of brand equity.
