Here is my Ferrari F40 (86640) client, Indycar race driver Graham Rahal testing the NSX on the track from 5:40 onwards in this old vs new comparo.

I think he says his legendary dad was involved with the original car's development, but I'll let him speak for himself!

Ha! My asking price is fairly firm at this point, the one in this thread was OBO. Just a testing of different strategies. :)

Anyone doing their homework will see its the best value on the market, and given the interest you have, its looking good.

Very nice looking '02 Personally I think that Silverstone over black is just about the classiest look for a NSX. The paint depth is very impressive and much richer in tone than the earlier silvers.

I have had a 2001 NSX for the past 5 years and have enjoyed every moment of it.

    Good luck with the sale!

Doing a little research, I note the NSX was one of the last cars Soichiro Honda saw through to production as Honda’s “Supreme Advisor” in his final years before he passed away in 1991.

This sort of parallels the Ferrari F40 story with the Old Man's Swan Song being the maker's benchmark sports car.

Speaking of F40, the NSX raced against the F40 at the highest level, for example at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, the NSX actually won its GT2 class, and finished 8th overall ahead to the F40s.

There's some brilliant if brief manual gearbox NSX - F40 footage here:

    Well done Sterling!

Its a shame we can't keep a fine example of a USA-spec NSX in the USA, but, we don't get to decide these things, the market does.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder where these race cars are now. They look like those could've started as street production cars. Love the 90s race cars as much as 60s race cars. Sweet spot eras.

A great deal of these cars are kept at the Honda Collection Hall museum at Twin Ring Motegi circuit (built & owned by Honda), about 90 miles north of Tokyo.

Ok, thanks. I was there in 2000 and 01, but haven't been back since. With all the race bikes and old F1 cars, one can appreciate Honda's race history. I witnessed a 60s F1 engine being put together when I was there. Might be time to revisit.

I've put together a little collection of some of the magazines that featured cover stories on the then newly-debuted NSX in 1990 & 1991.

The NSX was the 1991 Automobile Car of the Year, Motor Trend's 1991 "Best Handling Car in the World," etc. etc... no big deal. :)

at one point in time I owned (and read, multiple times) each one of those issues.

other kids had Playboys stashed in the closets, I had car magazines. not sure what that says about me

That's natural if you ask me! Here's a nice quote from Motor Trend's September, 1990 NSX review:

"It's the best sports car the world has ever produced. Any time. Any place. Any price."
