    NASCAR announces team charters.

Not very long on specifics. This has to be a response to the grumbling within the teams
last year with regard to sharing a bigger piece of the network money train flowing into
    Daytonner.

And, on the surface it appears that the teams will have a greater stake in the deal, it also
seems as though things will be considerably tougher for new teams to get a foot in the
    door.

Since NASCAR is a publicly traded company, should details of this be openly available?

I'm (pretty) sure ISC/NASCAR are publicly traded companies...

    ISC is.

    NASCAR isn't.

ISC only has to disclose their portion of revenues from the TV contracts ;)

Okay, so they'll split hairs on this one.

As goes ISC, so goes NASCAR.

I'm writing Danica in during the presidential primaries.

She can't be any worse than the current batch that's on the news every day.

    Danica 2016!

NASCAR has done gone and thrown us a possum this year.

Instead of coming out during Speedweeks and stating that there would be no rules
changes during the season, they've turned the tables on us and issued a new decree,
something called the "Overtime Line" before Brian France's annual State of NASCAR
    speech.

Now, the explanation of this is about as clear as mud and only serves to further the
    Green-White-Checker nonsense.

    Per Autosport.com...

"Under what is now termed 'NASCAR overtime', if the leader passes the overtime line - the
location of which will vary from track to track - on the first lap under green before a caution,
it will be considered a complete green/white/chequered and a result taken.

"If a caution comes out before the leader passes the overtime line on the first lap under green,
it will not be considered a valid attempt, and another attempt will be made.

"If necessary, multiple subsequent attempts will be made until a valid finish occurs. The procedure
will be used in the Xfinity and Truck Series as well as the Sprint Cup."

Good luck deciphering this one, my head still hurts after the announcement of the 20 minute
    caution countdown in "Trucks".

Only 40 starters now? I guess that's a way to avoid not having full fields, but sure hurts the start-and-park guys.

Gainesville skunk weed is the best skunk weed you can get. It's even better than the stuff from Palatka.

    LOL!

Sounds like the voices of experience here!

Anyway, having read, re-read and re-read this thing about this "Overtime Line", I only
come away with the feeling that the game of musical chairs that NASCAR loves to play
will only become more begrudgingly obtuse.

Where do they come up with this stuff?
