IMO le 4 Cilindri is a dud, nothing you can't find elsewhere.

Do you mean I 4 Cilindri?

The book was published in 1998. Was the "nothing you can't find elsewhere"
easy to find then? How many places did you have to look then to find the
    information in this book?

After an encouraging tease from DCN a few months ago, information about "Inside Track" seems to have gone dark again. Does anyone have new information?

There's a space reserved in my library!:)

There were a few useful photographs but I rely on Dean Batchelor, Hil Raab and Prunet for core info.

Just bought this book : FIAT en Grand-Prix 1920-1930.
Six years old, not a Ferrari book and in French only. But very interesting with many photos and drawings. The brillant Vittorio Jano was one of those behind these fantastic FIAT racers. The famous Alfa Romeo P2 was an exact copy of the FIAT 805. Great pilots like Pietro Bordino, Felice and Biagio Nazzaro drove them. Unfortunatelly none of these cars survives today.

I rather doubt that. The table of contents for the 1953 chapter indicates that there are already almost 300 pages of content by that point. Given that Phil raced through 1967, I would guess that the whole work would make for quite an unwieldy ebook. Issuu is primarily used to provide a digital platform for magazines, newspapers, etc. In this case it is, presumably, a relatively brief preview of what promises to be a considerably larger, and possibly, multivolume book that is still in production.

I did notice editor's notes in some of the captions and texts. It seems an unusual way to preview a book. I also have the impression that this will be more than one volume. If publication of volume one is imminent I hope it won't take another 10 years to get the next one out.;)

Up-thread there are some posts about a false start for the book's marketing on a web site that has since been deleted.

Thanks, Trashi. That is apparently a broken link. If I get a better one I'll post it. In the meantime, please continue to post information as you get it.

    Thanks again!

OK. What book do you use to find the date and place of the first
four cylinder car race? What was its engine type?

    Happy New Year to all!

They are taking orders for the "Bookshop Edition" (single volume of 480 pages and "some 700 photos") at Inside Track
$295+shipping to the U.S.=$337. Payment through PayPal goes to Paul Vesty. Delivery this Summer.

The Collectors Edition will be in 2 versions: "Standard" - 2 volumes, limited to 450 signed copies $720+shipping to the U.S.=$795

    "Deluxe" - 2 volumes, limited to 50 copies $$1650+shipping to U.S.=$1725

I was able to pay for the Bookshop Edition but, for both versions of the Collector's Edition, clicking on "Buy" just went to PayPal with no actual purchase option.

I have screen shots and copies of most of the text and will post that if the site goes down again.

That is exactly the problem I have been having as I want a copy of the two-volume edition. I am also wondering if the difference between the "standard" two-volume book and the "deluxe" version is only in the case. Paying an extra $1000 for a better case seems pointless. Unfortunately, thus far my email to their contact address has gone unanswered.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: I really want a complete copy of Inside Track. Since the only path that I found to that objective was the following, I took it.

    "Delivery Options
    UK only - 1,125.00 GBP
    Your telephone number
    Buy Now"

Like the single volume "Bookstore" Edition that I purchased earlier today, payment went to Paul Vestey. He and Doug Nye are The GP Library.

I added the following note to my PayPal payment: "13-Jan-2016 Since this is the only active option to purchase a Collector's Edition, I have taken it. I am sure we can settle the shipping charges when the time comes.
    Best regards,
    Jeff ....

I just inquired with one of the individuals working to produce this book. They are still working out the details on their PayPal accounts and are not quite "open for business" yet. I was told that this situation should be resolved in about a week or so.

The quote on the "Inside Track" website to the effect that Phil was "the first (and to date only) American ever to win world-class motor racing’s premier road racing title" is missing a word; it would only be correct if it said "American-born", since, of course, Mario was born in Italy (or maybe Slovenia?).
