Looking for advice. I am looking at a one owner 1982 308 GTSi that is getting a minor refurb right now (engine, interior, and a little rust where the door drains must have plugged up).
It has 28k miles. New tires, new rims, new seats.

Is $39k too much knowing it's an 82 non QV?

Probably not in today's market, if it is serviced and ready to go.

With that low of a mileage, that's a great price.

Dealers are selling good 2 valve cars for over 50k.

Careful with the mileage assumptions... :)

One owner and all that work being done to me indicates a person who did not take care of this car properly.

At 29K I would hope the seats don't need to be replaced. Mine have 71K and still look great. A buddy has 27K on his 77 and they look fantastic. Maybe $39K is too high. Have a PPI done and make a decision based on the findings.

It depends. If it really is a 28K/one owner car, fully sorted, I would expect it to sell for more than $50K. However, it sounds like it may not be a 28K car, and/or was not maintained well over the past 33 years.

that is just one opinion. My car at 36K miles had the seats redone and I had to do it the second time.

Yes, I didn't see any indication the car wasn't maintained. An engine, interior and body refresh could easily mean a service and detail/freshening prior to sale. Service history will tell the story. My car was due for seat upholstery at 40k miles.
