I think Jay72 was offered that car for $400K from a flipper with no inventory to sell from-yet! We'll see if a new seller advertises it @$400K
Well then, if now being offered from a well known dealer @ $400K when previously offered on Hemmings @ $300K. Not too surprising as it looked like a great example. Seven figures, being talked about, for the S. McQueen car being offered @ Mecum, Monterey later this year, may be very possible. It did previously sell for about 4 times the going rate of a 77 930 the last time @ Auction.
Paint code 944 (W1W1) is actually Platinum Diamond, standard '76 colour option. My car is the same colour. Regarding relays in the engine compartment, you should also have the relay for the fuel pumps, operated by the switch on the fuel head so the pumps only run when the metering plate is deflected.
I've never seen a first delivery date but I'm sure Karl Ludvigsen's reference is accurate that only seven cars were delivered in 1974. Fall 1974 When the car was shown in Paris in the fall of 1974 a figure of DM 65,000 ($27,400) was announced. This was to be applied to deliveries starting in March, for production began slowly. Only seven cars were made before the end of 1974, chiefly for press and demonstrator use. (Porsche, Excellence was Expected, Karl Ludvigsen)
Agree - the COA only indicates it was interior to sample (99). Platinum Diamond is a beautiful color. I've only seen the two fuel pump relays in the trunk fuse box.
Car number 9305700047 was sent by Pon in the Netherlands to Vasek Polak at march 24 1975, could have been one of the first Turbo's in the US. Erik
Erik did Pons sell more than two 1975 Turbos to Vasek Polak? 9305700047 was probably the black 75 Turbo that Fred saw a Vasek Polak with my silver 1975 Turbo. #0047 was originally black. Must have been stunning at Vasek...originally black with red interior for sale in the Jan 1989 Pano. By 1989 it had already lost its original engine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I saw a document that says Vasek was also the first owner of 47. It will be restored to original (not my car) - quite a challenge. I will try and get more info on your car. Erik
1973 Frankfurt show Turbo Tribute car in Japan. It looks nice in viper green metallic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Photos of the red trumpets removed from my 1975 Turbo (cleaned up nicely with no refinishing required). The Stritone Mixo red trumpet horns were used on 1970s 930 Turbos before they changed to black in the 1980s, about the same time the manual sport seats were re-designed. I like the iconic red trumpets but unfortunately, they are hidden under the bodywork next to the oil cooler. I believe Mixo horns are dated by year with the 4D indicating 1974 production. The Doyusha 1:12 kits were probably first since they came out in the 1970s with the correct manual vs. electric flag mirrors.
1975 Turbo manual with a blank vehicle data page and publication date of 4/75. Im beginning to think the 2/74 date in the earlier 1975 manuals was a typo and should have been 2/75. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142878649-post2146.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142879798-post2151.html Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I think that car was a very good buy at $260k based on the other 76's for sale right now at similar prices that aren't near as nice or as original. Phil
