Great shoes. I have Neumoks in blue, olive, and tan, plain loafers in oxblood, woven loafers in brown, wingtips in black, and captoe sanfords in chestnut. They always seem to run a little narrow but are well made and are easier to buy and get repaired than Aldens. .
Speaking of spectators and Allen Emonds, I had them make me this pair. They will customize any shoe in their offering. It takes about six weeks for a shoe no one else has. Not many people take advantage of this. Matt Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, I love my AE shoes. In addition to the strands, I also have a pair of Park Avenues and LaSalles in black. Very comfortable and look good. Well worth the money (though I bought 2 of the pairs from the outlet store during their sale, which saved me a considerable amount on the retail price).
Very nice Jen! My wife nominated my for husband of the year last Xmas........truth be told I enjoy them as much as she is......ahem...NOT that way - I love it when SHE wears them Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, then perhaps I should show you the black ones too... Picture taken by a collegue of mine for one ot the very rare occasions when I dared to actually were these black/white spectators in the office: it so happened that another collegue was similary minded towards two-tone shoes the same day, albeit she had some with blue instead of black... Like those as well but I really like the brown and tan style shoes. That is partially why that one really popped out! I will post a few shoes soon once I actually get the phone situation settled.
I hate to burst your bubble, but Cole Haan was never an Italian company. They have always been an American company... Maybe they sourced some shoes in Italy at some point, but before Nike bought them, I believe they were primarily made in the USA. As for my shoes, black Allen Edmonds monkstraps for me today. Probably the walnut Fifth Avenues tomorrow.
Well, once you had found one, take care because this can become seriously addictive... Move over Imelda Marcos: Queen of Romance Danielle Steele owns 6,000 pairs of Louboutin heels | Mail Online Rgds
Ok maybe I need to be perfectly exact with you.... Almost all of Cole Haan's men's shoes were made in Italy in the later 80's through the 90's. This is what I was referring to. Is that ok?
They did sell them recently, to Apax Partners. I just thought it was interesting that Nike took Cole Haan's sourcing from mainly US to Italy-- that's not something I would have expected them to do.
Yeah.. I just picked up a pair for me and 2 for the Mrs. Never knew the hype of these red bottom shoes. But $1500 for a pair of loafers! Crazy.
I actually remember when he opened his first shop in Paris, "Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau" in 1992...(yes, I'm old enough for that); I walked by that small shop one evening...I would never have guessed he would became so successful. Rgds
Just read an article he had the best years during the recession. And I doubt he was slashing prices to move them. Rich people get richer and poor get poorer during the recession. But anyway, this female novelist has 6000 pairs of his shoes. If math is correct, I use the avg cost of one pair around $1500, thats 9 million. And Christian sold 300,000 pairs last year. Thats 450 million retail. I would say he did very well. Just by using red soles.
Actually went to the store in Vegas today and I stand corrected. I think the avg cost is $1000. By the way, never seen so any girls mesmerized in a shoe store. I need to get into the shoe business. Hey lucky us, they were having a sale.... we need another bag flying home tomorrow. Mistake taking the mrs there.
