Once a Daytona gets moving the steering is not heavy at all. At all! I have driven over 23,000 miles in mine over nine years. Once I covered 400 miles in day and was not the slightest bit fatigued. I drive with my finger tips (literally) and the feedback from the wheels is wonderful. The car is a joy to drive and to describe anything Daytona related as "truck" like is just plain daft. Now parking, that IS another story.
"Once a Daytona gets moving the steering is not heavy at all. At all!" - Yup - that's the same with trucks On a more serious note, there's a Daytona coming up at Coy's Essen which looks to have a very reasonable estimate if anyone is looking to pick one up. I agree they look good value compared with some of the other increases seen recently. http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?itemID=4489&auctionID=42
Does anybody know what goes on at Hendon Way Motors in London? They have been advertising the same Daytona for literally years. The current ad mentions the article in which the car featured, Classic Car March 2013 and it had been for sale for age then. What gives?
this car sold for $605K for what appears to be a solid #3 car with red inserts in the seats and after market steering wheel,so it appears that the prices continue to move up.
Anyone see any Dayton's coming up in auctions? There is nothing advertised except a few dealers with POA for price
I am curious to see how this one goes, 10th May RM in Monaco: 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta by Scaglietti | Monaco 2014 | RM AUCTIONS
US version which might not help in a European sale, perhaps subject to duty? Bogus toolkit with 308 jack.
It is a question of perception. If something that obvious has been addressed in a half-assed manner, what other details might have been as well?
The description reads to me that it is a driver quality car rather than a show queen. Also if it's a 73 US car shouldn't the bumpers be mounted more proud of the bodywork (although to be fair they do look quite ugly when mounted that way)?
Nice article in Sports Car Market this month on these 3 Daytonas the market for Daytonas as other vintage ferraris is obviously moving up, it appears most of these 'auction cars'wind up in dealer inventories. Not much else around for sale. I don't see any from a private party.
pricing on the low end for a neglected car($450k), leaves a lot of room to do a quality restoration and not be under water. daytonas are still a good buy.
A couple of very low mileage ones coming up at Pebble Beach auctions. If they are as good as they look, I think the 800 barrier will easily be crossed. Ken Goldman
Bonhams sent me a brochure with one having around 6,000 miles I do not think other info is out there as of yet. Ken Goldman
I think a lot of Daytona sellers have left the market for the time being. There isn't much on offer anywhere.
Here is the link to one of the Bonhams Auction Daytona Spyders up for auction at the Qual this summer. This one is a unique color and very low miles. It could easily fetch north of 2 million. Bonhams : Quail Lodge Auction
