You have to be the ultimate poser to make a pretend 340 America from a mid 60's car. At least a GTE is not that far a departure from a GTO, nor is a PF Coupe from a Tdf; but this shows how far folks go to impress the valet at PF Chang's. Oh well, different strokes...

6499 was converted into a '64 GTO replica. See: Ferrari Other 330GT | eBay
. A real shame, since it appears to have been a very nice 4-HL 330 before the conversion.

Please be a little specific, what do you consider the main problem? Seems like all these cars were more or less a little different from the factory and it would be more informative with some substance behind the statements.

1963 Ferrari 250 GTO chassis no. 4675GT aint really that far off.

One of the World'S Most Desirable Ferraris Comes to Market: Anamera

For the interested there is a 250TR/61 replica (also built on a 330) for sale in Oslo, at $550.000 its expensive but I like it. Last picture.

But are the three SII cars as identical looking as the SI cars are?

I'm sure you know there were 7 250 GTOs bodied in S2 64 style. 3 originals and 4 Series 1 cars were converted also. They came in long roof, short roof without spoiler or short roof with integrated spoiler plus enclosed bonnet blister or cold air open ram bonnet induction.

Starting to like the idea of buying one of these gutted cars and putting modern Ferrari running gear into it instead, but I imagine the moaners sitting on the sidelines doing nothing but moan would hate that as well!

Paul, I've seen nothing of the sort. If you look around, you'll find a couple of threads on cars like this and they've always received positive responses.
