The 'inner circle' tend not to post on forums. They are privy to way too much company information and real data/evidence to run the risk of making public something they shouldn't. Mclaren have a use for Erik but inner circle he clearly isn't. Lol. Back on topic, what a collection Poulter has.
I am sorry, but they do trust him with confidential information. Perhaps not most development engineering data, but he knows plenty, and is allowed to ask. You don't know what he knows. And you never will, because he knows how to keep secrets. Enjoy the smugness. Back on topic.
He won't, like most that can afford these cars he will find time to put a few hundred miles per year. A pro PGA player has one of the craziest schedules one could imagine.
He tweeted yesterday that he has owned the 288 GTO for 14 months and has done a grand total of 40 miles in it.
FYI, a few new 288 GTO pics on his Instagram and some other sweet Ferrari shots too. http://instagram.com/ianjamespoulter
Wow, I didn't know that. I think that's really cool! Peloton is a nice guy and has answered my emails even though I am a nobody who can only ever dream about seeing an F1 in person, much less own one. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Impressive collection of Ferrari cars. If he keeps winning maybe he might get bored of his prancing horses and start some serious collecting? How about a 350GT, P400SV or maybe a LP400 for starters? Joking of course, class collection of modern Fez classics.
perhaps not very tactfully stated by Zack but true...Erik does have the ear of McLaren and the F1 marketplace. he's the Carbon McCoy of McLaren....OK more like the Marcel Massini of McLaren I was at the 12C launch at McLaren BH a few years ago and Ron Dennis sought out Erik, not the other way around; I think that speaks volumes. so in my mind if Erik states something about McLaren as fact, I take it as such.
I think Marcel is in a different league to Erik regarding knowledge and reputation, and don't believe the two should be compared in that sense. While Erik clearly knows more than most when it comes to McLaren, there is a difference between an obsessive fan boy and a true historian/expert. Besides, Erik seems to spend most of his time these days simply regurgitating McLaren's press releases and bashing Ferrari/Porsche at every opportunity.
He drove his Enzo to Bay Hill on Thursday. https://twitter.com/BrandtSnedeker/status/446743238897336321/photo/1
