It's image from race with 0262 M. http://supercarsplanet.net/uploads/images/temp/cid_ii_13df46377cdf1526.jpg Giulio Musitelli is the behind the wheel, left - his brother Ferruccio and right - Alberto Ascari. I'm trying to find info which race it is. Accordind to start #30 it's looks like the 1st Gran Premio Supercortemaggiore (6/9/1953). But Ascari did not took the start in Supercortemaggiore that year: Supercortemaggiore 1953 - Photo Gallery - Racing Sports Cars Does anybody can help? Thanks a lot in advance.
It is Merano, Gran Premio Supercortemaggiore 1953 without the shadow of a doubt, but on the right I do not recognize Alberto Ascari.
Also thank you for posting this image (new for me btw). But in file name I see the "29-june-1953" as a day of the race... Why if Supercortemaggiore race was held in 6 September 1953? (I have the other image stamped with this day).
The image attached to your post proves this car has always been ugly. But we need the ugly ones to appreciate the better looking ones Pete
The original and, though not perfect, the reproduction Abarth body is one of the most magnificent and spectacular body designes ever put on a Ferrari chassis and certainly is NOT in any way ugly. Unique and different but in no way an Abbott. tongascrew
All I see in that period photo is an ugly car. The rear wheel arch, lump, looks terrible ... but just my opinion, and yes agree that the rebuild is a disaster. Pete
Yes it is, finished 1st IC. This is 0262M after the Coppa della Toscana May 31, 1953. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Please read my post again. I never refered to the reproduction body as a "disaster". I is not perfect but considering there were only pictures to refer to, no drawings or dimentions etc the effort is really quite good. In the future if you make reference to someone's post please do it correctly. tongascrew
Oops, my bad. The disaster was my words and IMO it is not a good. There have been many restorations from photos only. I'll unsubscribe ... Pete
I'm trying to find info about body colour when car left Abarth factory... Or body was unpainted may be?
I'm writing article about 0262 M and looking for any contacts (phone or e-mail) to Wayne Sparling who has recreated Abarth body. I'll be really grateful if any FChat members does can help me. Thanks a LOT in advance.
As I can see from this document 0262/M chassis was completed in Maranello February 2, 1953, not March 14, as many sourses shows. http://supercarsplanet.net/uploads/images/temp/0262m_montagio_04.jpg Bottom of the page you will find an inscription "Viene inviato in carrozzeria senza essere collaudato" and date. Where did the information about the March?
