Thanks, Kare. Not saying this car is genuine but these mistakes could also be evident on a real GTO that has been rebodied, as some of them have been, by a company other than Scaglietti/Ferrari, and then to wrong dimensions.

Are the seats of a correct GTO pattern? We don't get to see the interiors of many GTOs in pictures or videos. I've noticed blue, green, plain black leather but not this pattern before??? Did some of them have quilted leather areas inside and to the rear of the cockpit or are all totally stripped out. Were the dash boards and clock binnacles all the same? I may have seen them with black gearbox tunnels also?

Only 21 genuine m/62-LHD cars exist today, so browsing through them all is not a very big effort. Some of them have minor issues with the accuracy of the reproduction bodies, but not something as "serious" as this.

I also suspect that the driver is located too far front. This is a well known problem with many fakes and suggests the car may use a GTE/330GT-frame, which does not really allow the driver seat to be placed in correct position.

Thanks again. Is there a 4 speed box on this one too? I couldn't quite see. Below is a link to Mark Hales showing us around Nick Mason's GTO, both inside and out. The car must have been having a gearbox rebuild at the time.

Can someone give me the chassis number of a perfect example of a SWB and GTO for each variation.

No two ever look the same

IMHO, the 250 SWB, should be worth far more then a GTO.

Fake, off course. Very likely built in UK.

What are the differences between this and a real GTO body, Kare?

C-pillar area, rear overhang, rectangular vents, incorrectly positioned jack holes. I'd guess DK Engineering and/or RS-Panels were involved.

This one is RS Panels, I heard it was copied off Nick Mason's car. Not to doubt what is clearly a very highly trained eye but how likely is it that the car by car variation is the reason for the discrepancies pointed out by Kare?

Also hope no one thinks I am slagging off Petrolicious - just love the site and greatly enjoyed watching this just before - what a lovely car Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ | Articles

The Alfa Giulietta SZ is very nice. Let's compare the RS Panels (?) body to Nick Mason's GTO #3757GT and #3505GT.

A big difference I can see in profile, and there are others, between the RS? body and #3757GT is the nose which is very blunt and is more similar to #3505GT??? #3757GT has a Long Nose.

Hmm. I've edited this post as #3757's nose doesn't look so long in the bottom pic which I've just added.

Lenses can distort the dimensions as they appear in a photo and distortion tends to increse strongly towards the edges. 100 millimetres (4 inches) can easily disasppear from overhang in a sideview.
