Should be a crapshoot tomorrow depending on the weather. Rosberg laid down the gauntlet in Q2 though...almost in the 1:35's. I think RBR, Ferrari, Merc and Lotus all have a legit shot for the win. RBR on the mediums looked a little suspect though, so I'd think that they're hoping for rain, but once again you can never count out Newey. I honestly don't know who to expect to cross the line in first tomorrow. That Q1 for RBR was really strange.
I can only imagine the outpour of support if the result was FA vs Massa. Pathetic. Credit where its due. Massa earned his seat and if this keeps up he will keep it. Love it. SKY are giving him alot of recognition.
I think it shows the Ferrari made the right decision on Felipe. His end of season form appears to be his reemergence as a competitive F1 driver. It took him a couple of seasons to recover from that head injury and regain his aggressiveness. Many props to Felipe. Having both he and Alonso fighting at the front gives Ferrari a great chance to gain the WCC (yes, there is a TON of season left)
Wish the weather had not changed, but it is what it is... That first turn has the potential to be a real melee tomorrow. The weather will again be a factor. Felipe beating Alonso is always entertaining. Who's going to make the "Massa is faster than you - do you understand" t-shirts? >8^) ER
I do like the fact that we see 'live' results on NBC versus the slight delay with Speed. OTOH, it means they have to fill time before they get to the post-session interviews. I guess giving lessons on f1 specifics (currently they're doing DRS/overtaking) is a good way to use the time, but I'm also pretty certain that the only people in the US watching the broadcast right now are the ones who don't need any lessons.
Just occurred to me; this of course makes starting tire choice free. Much head scratching going on tonight I suspect..... If it doesn't rain, theories suggest they'll be out out of tires by about 3/4 distance. Cheers, Ian
That's pretty much what I got from the interviews: Vettel is hoping he runs out of race before he runs out of tires. If it stays dry, watch for Sutil to try to stretch his tires, again. Interesting suggestion I heard was the notion that the primes may not last any longer than the options. But, hey, it's Malaysia. Probability of an all dry race: Too low to worry about. Bigger concern will be running out of daylight, again. Nice not to have to stay up all night, but they start this race way too late in the day.
If tomorrow the race is in dry conditions, we can won it. because, maybe vettel weells doesn´t work in dry conditions. under the rain vettel is very important enemy. regards.
B.s penalties are already starting this season, 3 places penalty for Raikkonen for supposedly blocking Rosberg. Nothing (at the momment) for Perez who clearly blocked a sauber earlier in the quali.
