the original NSX was a mashup of a 959 and F40, let's not give it too much credit; but they did have chassis testers named Senna and Rahal...

The original NSX sent Ferrari (348) and Porsche (964) back to the drawing board. Those cars (NSX) were so advanced and so refined for their time, it is not even funny. It took Ferrari for the 360 to catch up on the aluminum technology. I had an NSX for 5 or 6 years and it was one of the greatest sports cars I personally owned. I could jump in it in Los Angeles and not hesitate driving it 1,000 miles with no fear of any problems whatsoever and arriving not tired or stressed out from the seats to the HVAC.

Looks are totally subjective and IMHO it was a very attractive car for its time without an ounce of fat on it and although the interior is now dated, it had terrific seats and the view outside was fantastic. Not only did Ayrton Senna and Bobby Rahal develop the chassis but so did Alain Prost. In addition, Gordon Murray had one as his every day car while developing the Mc Laren F1.

I just hope that this car can measure up to the original when it is released in 2014.

I agree, the NSX was a quantum leap forward for sports cars/exotics. it just wasn't the best looking (or most creative) car to ever leave a design studio ;)

if you look at the cars from that era...NSX, 964, 348, C4 Corvette...the NSX is today the most desirable, and probably the most iconic.

Maybe 348 and C4 but not 964 if I may disagree with you sir.

I think this car looks great. If they produce this for 911 Turbo money they will take a lot of business from Porsche, Aston, Audi, Ferrari and LameBo.

It needs to be 150k and under. High enough to keep kids out yet just enough to intrigue many upper end exotic customers.

I don't think it will come in over $110k when it comes out.

Totally agree. The NSX was. Game changer for everyone. And the original show car was much better looking. The front got increased for crash testing.

This car is just another marketing exercise. The original broke a lot of molds.

So true about the older nsx's i still have one and it is just amazing as far as the new one we will see from what i heard it might be priced around what the Nissan gtr is or was( 78k-85k) which i think will be really good also the "economic timing" of the release of the car will be favorable for some good sales for Honda

Not an NSX. It won't have the same effect as the original. The original woke up the competitors, and I just can't see this one doing the same.

Now I agree that it will most likely not have the effect on the market like the original did as the original introduced VTEC to the US automotive sector and it will be employing concepts already on the market but in concept it will still be an NSX, jmho.

    You aren't alone...but IMHO "r8-ish" isn't a bad thing.

Do the tires on the above picture look ridiculously low-profile? I think I saw a guy with a hoop through his nose on Pimp My Ride "wrap" a set on 24's with rubber like that.
